So what's everyone's take on HBB stating the Fiio M11 sounds identical to the more expensive DX220? I don't like the guy but it's an interesting observation to make.

like him or not, he has an opinion... and if his opinion can be marginalized then everyone's should be

Lol don’t need any help keeping the DX220 warm, it’s like a portable heater

Thank you.

Even more bad news I've gone and dropped my DX220. It's got a dent in the upper right front corner :sob:
Everything still seems to work fine but I really don't like having defects on the things I use :sob:
I wonder how much it would cost to get the outer casing replaced or even if it would be possible.

Yet another case for a case that protects the top. Sorry to hear about your acciDENT. :frowning2:

My particular solution to the case problem. I hate the case color. The DX 220 on the other hand is very attractive. I am not going to listen to the DX220 while on the go. Its heavy and gets very warm. I bought it as a music system that I can listen to while seated, relaxed on mt beach and home screened porches. I have light little cheap DAPS for walking and listening.
This is a GPS pouch I found at Amazon. Its the 5" one and fits and has room for cables.

I know exactly what you mean, I have a trusty little fiio m6 for active use, along with some surprisingly good sounding cheap Sony wireless buds. Total cost 210 dollars, I also use this little dap for car aux out. Ibasso is for sitting and relaxing at home for me. Oh, and I swear Sony has some kind of dsp magic going on in these buds, because the soundstage is huge, even with m6.

Cheap portable rig

Or maybe the DX220 is that good. :^)

You know, listening right now my DX220 with Focal Clear, on my rough calculations after 130 hours of burning, I think you are correct, it is that good!
If doubts I had in past experiences about the power of burning, now I'm a believer.

Update: Ah, and btw, if the FiiO M11 sounds like this, please guys don’t hesitate, rush to the stores while it exists, world will be out of stock in 24 hours.

Listened to some well recorded music this afternoon from Cat Stevens, Jack Johnson, Don Henley and some others. I used CA Vega and ALO Silver Litz cable. The bass was still not boosted, but now it was there along with the magical sound of the Amp 1 Mark 2. It was the best sound I have heard from a DAP. The midrange and treble are so clean and clear. Money well spent.
Now to break in the DX220 with the Amp 8 , Norne IEM Silvergarde and CA Andromeda.

Yesterday I’ve downloaded several albums in master quality from Tidal. Android Mango shows right numbers - 24/96 MQA, and Mango OS shows 24/48 FLAC. The sound differs a little bit, and I like the sound from Mango OS.

How to play downloaded music from Tidal on Mango OS?
Not possible to play Tidal offline though any application or device outside of the native Tidal app due to licensing/encryption
