Yes, from previous post - it is possible for amp9 to aux.
So i don't have to worry that this might damage the tubes? Thanks for reply!

How about a DX300 - Very smartphone like properties.
If you do solid streaming and SQ is a priority - i suggest DX160
Please refer to the DX160 thread, no dap is perfect for streaming in this price range usd.500, regardless of brand

Thank you very much for your answer.
DX300 is too much expensive for my level and for my pocket.
I also was looking at DX160, but I read so many critical owners about the wifi connection... And while I was in "stand-by mode" I found a good deal for a dx220+amp8, and I wonder if it could still be a choice for streaming... (I don't want to buy something for streaming that will be obsolete in 2/3 years leaving me to play only my ripped library).
Thanks!

You're welcome. Here's what we were discussing in the 160 thread

The 220 is very capable of streaming, this is today's test @5ghz band
I'd suggest you pm your seller to do the same below, just to be safe

But, I play my music natively, ∴ I have nothing to share on streaming experiences using the device...

Good afternoon all

Very late to the party i got my DX220 yesterday from ebay.

I've worked my way through a number of different DAPs and this is by far my favorite so far.

My FW is 1.18.284-L1.26b1 which I believe means its got the Lurker mod installed?

I downloaded Tidal from the Play Store and all was OK except when moving from a Masters track to a HiFi one everything goes silent. The HiFi track is still playing but no sound. I downloaded them and they work fine from the device, but when streaming it seems to fall over when moving from a Masters track to a HiFi one.

I've done a search but couldn't find anything about this. Is this a known issue?

Many thanks

Amp9 could be around 1vrms output compared to amp7. High gaing/high gain on Amp9 is about the same as amp7 low gain, which is.0.9vrms.
Amp9 is not meant to be powerful.

How is Amp9 driving the 600ohms headphones that you got ? sufficient power ?
Should be loud enough, timbres is ok, but what you really need if you have dx220 and driving headphones would be an external amp. If you love Nutubes and want to stay neutral the way Ibasso house sound is, then pairing with the C9 will be a good choice :)

Can not do it. Best it an is Koss Porta pro in both high gains. Even my hd480 classics are to much for Amp9. My bro is using it with hd569 in just high gain(without the tube set in high gain).
Volume around 70till 80sounds fantastic. I use my 220ex with my amp7 most of the time but also for only my hd569 and my HD 480 classic. As for my 600ohm cans they need amp8ex to be adequately powered.
Amp7 can realistically do up to 150ohm cans, while anything above needs Amp9 or even better external amp(running my 600ohm cans from my sansui a d33). They only sing more the more power they get.
Amp9 is for earbud iem's and efficient full size cans, but those are few and far between.

What? Are you serious. The AMP9 set to high output will easily drive the Focal Utopia, the SR2, and many headphones. Low output, sounds great with many IEMs and low output is all you need for the PortaPros.

Yes very. We both have very different ideas of how those phones are supposed to sound like. To me it has nowhere near enough power for anything more than Porta pro with all settings high gain. As stated before the reason for running hd569 with it is for its the best impedennce/sensitivity wise can handle with acceptable results.
If you want Porta pros to sound quiet and like iem's then sure low output sort of works. But to sound anything like they are intended to sound. Both settings need to be high. As stated my hd480 won't even get close to acceptable levels.
