I guess maybe the wise thing would be just wait and see rather than speculating.

The DX200 has a faster transfer speed than either the DX100 or the DX80. The internal memory of the DX200 is much faster than the DX100. For SD cards I still prefer to use a card reader but the DX200 works fine.

I'd wait until someone here actually has a unit in hand to actually "appreciate" it...

Initial impressions seem to say sound is slightly on the warm side, no noticeable background noise or hiss, bass, mid and treble seem to be quite balance, separation is good.

I have a suspicion that the DX200 may turnout to be the 'meatiest' sounding DAP iBasso have ever produced - not more hard-hitting than DX100, but equally hard-hitting, with perhaps a touch more warmth and refined treble than DX100. I don't mean 'warm', overall, but slightly less cold than DX100.

Sound should be neutral. Source mission- to extract all info, that recordet in track, not less, not more. Veil, warmth, treble cut- it's all cheap tricks.

Yes, I agree.

My use of the term 'warm' was not in the sense of the overall sound being warm, but in the sense of a little less cold than the DX100 - much as I liked the DX100, it could/can sound a little cold and hard every now and then.

Within 2-3 weeks, we should find out some user-impressions of the DX200, and then we'll know.

It's darker and larger than I expected. The fit of the amp module could be better.

EDIT: not my photos

Go easy with that box cutter:
