Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread

Guys, if you haven't heard the DN-1000 with the O2, then you haven't heard what it can do yet. I have used it with the T1, Palaios, Neco V3, UHA760 and a few other amps, but none have wowed me like this. I still can't believe what this combo is capable of.

Noisy Motel carries them and it may be worth going down for a demo.

For the price of BA200, have a look at Dunu DN-900 which is a superb mid-centric hybrid, and I think it is better than BA200 in every way

Is the DN-900's bass as fast as the BA200's? And do the BA200 sound like the VC1000 btw?

DN-900's dynamic bass is not as fast as BA200's armature bass, but I much prefer 900's bass and the whole signature really.

Also, IMHO, VC1000 triumphs BA200 in every way as well, in fact, VC1000 is probably one of the best sounding dual BA that I have ever heard

Very interesting, I just got my Walkman F and I'm thinking about getting an amp to get perfect impedance matching. I was precisely looking at JDSLabs O2 and cmoyBB. Can you please elaborate on how the sound improves with O2?

Yeah I just wish I could combine the DN1K and VC1000 strengths into one IEM.

It seems my only option is to buy another VSonic to compliment the DN's as I still prefer the VC1000 for rock/metal and sub genres.

VC1000 is better than GR01(P2P) but bwavz B2,FA DBA02 and RIS R50 there.......And UE700,VC1000 and Atec 7 are better sounding dual BA cans.

I have a very unpleasant surprise to share. The left earpiece on my DN1K suddenly went extremely quiet. I don't understand what happened. I was listening to some music when this guy said something to me, so I removed the left earpiece while music was still playing. And when I put it back on, the damn thing was extremely quiet. I don't even.... Beware with your pair, don't remove them while music is playing, some weird thing suction thing or something damaged the drivers I guess? Anyone knows how to contact MP4Nation to make the guarantee valid?

I've often done that without anything happening, as one should with any earphone. Use the MP4Nation contact form ('Contact Us', top of the page). They tend to respond promptly (taking into account time zone difference, of course).

From the stock DX50, the thing that improves the most is separation and detail. Little details become so much more apparent. Imaging and soundstage also become better and more precise.

One good attribute about DN-1000 is it's ability to scale up well with better sources. Many IEM I've tried hit a glass ceiling early, they won't improve much with stronger source. I really wish Rocky would come out with a v2 that supported removable cable, (possibly with Westone socket or UE. sockets)  so we can not only upgrade the source. I do believe with a nice cable of decent purity DN-1000 has the ability to go even further, only being locked out from that we'll never know. If there was a cable maker/modder in my area I would try to get them terminated because I do believe it would be totally worth the money.
