In NYC, the DK-4001 should be available for audition at Audio46, one of our retailers. It will be great to hear your thoughts and comparisons, either on here or on
the dedicated DK-4001 thread! Indeed, we responded to a lot of user feedback both in China and around the world that the DK-3001 was a smidgen too thin in the mids, and we tried to find that ideal balance between richness and clarity with the DK-3001 PRO. Of course, it's difficult (if not impossible) to get everything perfect for everyone, especially when we are working to achieve a certain price point. It is good that you still have the DK-3001 handy, though you might just find the DK-4001 to give you an next level bump in all-around resolution and depth of imaging. Please be aware, however, that the DK-4001 is known to be more selective with sources. Users have given us feedback that overly powerful sources will make the highs sound a bit too sharp and the bass a bit too bold, whereas very low power sources might not drive the Beryllium driver with enough authority. Like Goldilocks, the DK-4001 has to be paired with something that is just right.
