Can't wait to try out Talos at CanJam SoCal! Only heard news of this IEM today. Currently enjoying my beloved EST 112 out of the WM1AM2. Match made in heaven.
Nice, too bad can't be there! Looking forward on the initial thoughts!https://www.head-fi.org/threads/joi...-kind-planar-balanced-armature-hybrid.964898/
Talos is live. Look forward to seeing your initial thoughts and more feedback when all of you coming to CanJam get to try it out this week.
I've tried the stock tips, Final Es, and Springtips. I've settled on the Springtips because I decided I wanted to keep the Vulkan's expansiveness, while opening up the treble more. The Final Es did focus the sound like I like them to but they did narrow it too much for me.By the way, what other ear tips have you guys tried with the Vulkan?
I'm not as much worried about the (apparent) treble on them. I am more worried about the 5dB boost in the ear gain. Those are going to be painful/piercing (to my ears, since I am super sensitive to that region) if they sound like they are graphing. This is also why I am dying to hear impressions on these (as you said, graphs don't tell all).
For those of you worried about the harshness/sibilance of the BA mode on the Talos, here is a comparison of the measurements to the Sennnheiser IE600 graphed by Crinacle. As always, I would encourage a listen before making final opinions on a graph. The graph does not tell all.

Oh no, I didn't take it as directed at me. I was actually commenting specifically about my ears, and fears for the Talos. But I also wanted to reiterate, I make no judgement until I hear more impressions (ears are better than graphs)... Thanks for sharing the information either way! This wasn’t intended to be at anyone direct- just a common point in discussion we’ve seen and wanted to encourage people to keep in mind.
Everyone’s ears are different!
I have the IE600 and it has treble harshness alreadt. And it looks like the talos with switch on pushess that even further.

With default tuning it's very good, with BA's enabled can be too spicy, still prefer the S12.Oh no, I didn't take it as directed at me.
