Really depends on the amp you have. The K702s require a lot of current to be driven properly. I find that the K702s do very well with jazz and classical music. Female vocals are good but are sometimes more sibilant than I would like them to be. I find them more sibilant than my Grado RS2i which has very good treble. Bass for the 702 lacks impact so don't expect much bass although the bass it produces is clean and controlled.

K702 are for serious headphone listeners. Prepare your wallet if you want to use this kind of headphone to max. Since K702 is an audiophile headphone, be sure that it must also be surrounded with audiophile amp, source, dac, etc. and you will be an audiophile listener too! Goodluck!

Looking at your signature it says something different, if I'm not mistaking the FiiO E9 isn't particularly an expensive, say audiophile amp and still it partners very well with the K701, according to you

Try K601 : high are less sibilants than on the K701/2, mediums are nicer IMO...

I have a PA2v2. Are they punchy? I just don't want to have the singer sound like their through a tube, like the HD280.

I think its time to change to change my signature. It doesn't sound so good, it's only average. I am looking for an upgrade of my amp.

You won't like the K-701 if you're into female vocals. I found vocals to sound artificial on the K-701. Multiple high-end amps didn't help, not even the magic of 2A3 tubes made them sound good. 2A3s, like most DHT tubes, lend a magical quality to vocals. But the tonality is off on the K-701, so they didn't do much good.

If you want great vocals, try the AKG K-501. They sound very natural and are about $100 less than a K-701 when they turn up. You might also be interested in the Sennheiser HD-600. They sound very natural, but aren't as forward as the K-501 is. You might also want to put the Beyerdynamic DT880 on your list. The mids are a little recessed, but they are a very competent headphone.

Finally, you might want to summon the Stax Mafia. Electrostats aren't a bad way to go if you want excellent vocal reproduction. I'm a nominal member of the Mafia (I have an O2 Mk. 1), but am something of a fringe member because I like dynamic headphones better and prefer electrostatic speakers to electrostatic headphones.

And with that, I'll make my escape. Team K-701 will be throwing a rope over a tree shortly and the Stax Mafia will be readying their pitchforks and torches.

(To pour a little more gasoline on the fire, save up for a HD-800. It's the one you really want. Trust me.)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.  UE's crusade against the K701 is not everyone's opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt.  Female vocals through the K701 (amped through modest ss- Cantate) are sublime IMO, along with most Indie, Acoustic, Folk, type music.  As for the HD800 being better, firstly it would want be at over 4 times the price and secondly there are a fair few HFiers going back to the toilet bowl AKG or its variants. 
As whether the OP will like the sound of the K701, who knows?

Personally not my style after AT headphones - the K701s sound distant, lack treble clarity, bass impact and most of all, I don't feel involved with the music.
