I've had SR850s for a while now and I really enjoy the sound so I thought I'd get some velour pads to replace the stock ones that get a bit uncomfy after some usage. I've done my research and checked a lot of SR850 earpads threads out there, and some people said that DT 770/880/990 pads fit them pretty well, other said they were barely able to put them on and that they change the sound.
I could get AKG k240 pads, but I've managed to find DT replacement ones from China on eBay for a cheaper price (9,69$) so if anyone could answer:
Do the DT pads fit SR850?
If so, how hard is it to put them on?
Do they change the sound and in what way?
Thank you.

The EDT (DT770/DT880/DT990) pads are a few millimeters smaller then the SR-850 ear pads.
So with some work the EDT pads (or Chinese knock offs of the EDT pads) will work.
The SR-850 is a Chinese (Taiwan?) knock off (made by Superlux) of the AKG K240 headphones.
So any ear pad designed to fit the AKG 240/241/270/271 or Superlux 662, 681, 668b, 669, etc. will fit the SR-850.

The Chinese knock off ear pads ($15) outer covering is not as soft as AKG name brand pads ($45).
But for one third the price, your still getting fairly decent ear pads.
