Discover a new world of sound: Make way for the IE 200

Could you explain what EMEA means ?Hi, thanks for the questions. First, regarding discontinuation: In EMEA and America, the IE 300 has been phased out in favor of the IE 200, as we believe the IE 200 is a superior product for most of our customers. As you may know, Asia's IEM market is much larger, so we'll wait a few months to see how the products can co-exist.
During the development of the IE 200, we did extensive market research and found that most of our audiophile customers would have paid more than the final MSRP of $149. However, we aim to claim a significant market share in the "entry-level" category of In-Ears, and the IE 200 combines superlative performance at the ideal price point we've researched. This also means there is no need to discount to reach a better point in the price/demand curve. I assume the product will be supply constrained for a while, which also keeps the pricing stable.
Finally, individual perception of sound quality and tone preference differs much more with IEMs than with over-ear headphones. Our goal for the IE 200 was to create a truly neutral in-ear, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a more enjoyable listening experience, as most people still prefer the more exciting IE 600.
EMEA
Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Thanks, it's a shame to see the IE300 then. I'm in Europe and I don't like to see products disappear from the market

Received my set yesterday and I've put about 6 hours on them. Final type E eartips are the most comfortable for me. I primarily plan to use these on the go and not so much for "critical" listening.
Anyway, I quite like them. Extremely comfortable and better sounding than the Truthear Hexa I owned last month. Namely due to acoustic drums sounding more correct to my ear. With the Hexa, drums sounded wrong with an unnaturally fast decay to my ear. The IE200 is almost twice the price of the Hexa so please keep in mind that it should be better.
I'll write some more in the next few days but so far it seems like $150 well spent.

The #IE200Club grows again, thank you!! I've only tried the fully flushed position (so #2 according to post on page 1).The #IE200Club grows again, thank you!! I'm curious if you tried the dual staging of the eartips, and if there is an eartip position you prefer?
Also worth mentioning I mainly listen to prog metal, contemporary R&B, and indie electronic (think James Blake).

Hello friends,
I also received my IE 200 this week.
Previously I had the IE 300 for a couple of weeks that had to be returned because of the connectivity issues with the left IEM. I found the original cable a joke and immediately replaced it with a Tripowin one (that doesn't need any fiddling in order to fit) which was an huge improvement but sadly, despite enjoying the sound, I had enough of its issues and back it went.
I didn't know about the IE 200, so as soon as I learned of it, I took the plunge with amazon and worst case scenario, it just would go back.
I didn´t have enough time nor have currently the IE 300 to make any sort of comparison with the IE 200. When listening for the first time the IE 200, I wasn't shocked or didn't have the impression that it was a lesser sound.
What was a huge improvement is the cable. Well done Sennheiser! Finally you can spend the money for the IEM and not worry about further spending unless you really want to. I'm perfectly fine with it and actually like it. As with the IE 300, I immediately felt at home with the fit and the medium tip that comes with it. I usually hate IEM´s because I struggle with the shape, the fit in the ear and no matter how much tip rolling I do, I'm never satisfied. That was the case with the Campfires I have tried and the Timeless (OG and AE). All went back or were sold. The Sennheiser I love them for that!
I tried Both positions for the tip and I much prefer the second position (the one where the position gives the nozzle impression of being shorter (where the nozzle, once in your ear, is closer to it). Thank God it is so because if I preferred the other position I would have always to be very careful, when inserting it in the ear, not to push it to the second position. But it is so easy and fast to change positions and it is nice to have 2 configurations that, in my opinion, gives you 2 different sounds.
As I listen mainly to Instrumental Progressive rock and metal, I felt at home with the second position. For me the bass got way more present but without bleeding into the mids and was well controlled. I felt immediately more immersed by the music like if I was in the middle of it, opposed of feeling it in front of me (first position). So I felt more engaged and less distracted. In my opinion, this position gives you more "agressiveness" that I like, like the music is more in your face, forward. The first position feels more clean, "clinical".
Maybe the first position, in my opinion, is more suited to classic, jazz, acoustics and so on. The second position for everything else. Keep in mind I'm no audiophile and I apologize for the lack of technical vocabulary but that doesn't interest me. I'm all about listening to music and that is all I care about.
Anyway, at this point, I'm very impressed with the Sennheiser, especially considering the price point. Well done!

This is what it's all about. You can be an audiophile without being an acoustic engineer -- all that matters is that you love better sound. FWIW I found your descriptions quite useful and very relatable, which is probably the greatest value to the other members here who are looking for impressions as they continue their research. Bravo and enjoy!Keep in mind I'm no audiophile and I apologize for the lack of technical vocabulary but that doesn't interest me. I'm all about listening to music and that is all I care about.

Yes I struggled as well. I think we are supposed to remove the tips first and then place the tips back on at either the outer or inner position. Another problem for me is that the tip position easily self-switches from the outer position to the inner position when placing the earphones in my ear. Not sure if there is a solution for this.I am struggling to discover the 2 positions for the tips, i cannot seem to alter them?

You are right. First you have to take the tips out. Then gently position them in the nozzle, without almost any pressure to engage the 1st position. For the second position just force a little more and you will feel the "click" easily. I agree, to use the first position you have to gently put the IEM in your ears or there is a risk to push the tips to the second position. Nevertheless, after doing this a few times it gets much easier as you understand the sensibility of the position / tips.Yes I struggled as well.
