then maybe you should wait for other independent reviewers (people who bought the product and will review it with little to no bias) quietly, instead of trying to nitpick reviews others put out and complaining to Eric @ Sennheiser (who I'm sure is a nice guy and deserves none of this)Those review sites and YT channel should be a little more realistic

Oh I see you want only positive vibes about the product. Go ahead "nitpick" most favourable reviews and rave about them, but pls stop telling others what to post.
Obviously brand reps are here to say nothing wrong about the product, that's their job. We the consumers, and passionate audio lovers have the right to ask questions, criticize and quote not only positive aspects.
Haven't complain anything to ericpalonen, only asked why Sennheiser keeps being silent about alleged IE300 discontinuation.

Has Sennheiser said they were discontinuing the IE300? As for comparing it the IE200 to the IE300 vs IE600 it could just be a matter of what they had on hand. Ideally I think it would be best to compare it to both since its in a similar price bracket to the IE300 and has a similar FR to the IE600

Tonally they (the 200 and 600) are closer than the 300 and 600, but as the 200 makes it's way to everyone's ears I suspect it will get compared to a zillion other things; 900 to 200, 200 to MTW3, etc etc. It all depends what people have on hand but I think the more combinations covered the better. But when it comes to "that particular sound" there's definitely a dotted line between the 200 and 600.Why this is compared to IE600 and not to IE300 in the first place being second in lineup?
Thanking you!Well done Sennheiser. Great IEM !

I wouldn't hold your breath lol.Same thing will happen to IE200 only this time price will be reduced from msrp 149 euros to something like 80-100 euros respectively. It will happen most probably within 6-8months since launch, if not sooner.
This week we will finalize selections for the tour so we can get the rest of the community a wider range of feedback, and also have units out to editors in the audio and text space. We should see them starting to come in over the coming weeks. The great thing about the community tours/reviews is that they're more likely to cover the other gear we are more likely to cross paths with for better or worse.then maybe you should wait for other independent reviewers
Of course I love all of the positive feedback, but have grown to really appreciate the criticism as well. I also don't mind when a user says "hey, definitely don't do this one particular xyz thing with the xyz headphone because the experience is awful in this scenario" so that I can relay that information and make certain expectations are fair.
The 300 will actually stick around in select markets while others gravitate towards the 200. There's still inventory at the dealer level and we will continue to support it with the 2-year warranty from date of purchase, parts, etc.Sennheiser keeps being silent about alleged IE300 discontinuation
It's not as clear-cut as it used to be because of the globalization of the hobby and blurry territory lines of distribution. I apologize for the lack of precise market availability of the 300 as it's still developing now that the 200 is here (see the above comment). The 300 still has legs and a dedicated fanbase that likes it's tuning -- it is not a discontinued item globally.Has Sennheiser said they were discontinuing the IE300? you should know by now not to wholly trust YouTubers and reviews sites, right?Oh I see you want only positive vibes about the product. Go ahead "nitpick" most favourable reviews and rave about them, but pls stop telling others what to post.
If they don't like it, that's just 1 point of reference/point of view. wait a few days and I'm sure there's gonna be more people who would be able to provide you more insight/ more POVs of how it works for them. This isn't a limited drop; you can decide to get one *after* more reviews come in (or wait for a sale, if you so wish).
also it's head-fi, you post what you want, and so do i. If we have any disagreements, I'm more than happy to talk about it. no need to passive-aggressive...
Does Sennheiser have a plan for a new of PRO series? (100, 400, and 500). I have tried the 100 and 500, and actually love the 100 in the way of its balance.
Thanks for the question and compliments. We don't typically comment on speculation but if there's a change to the PRO lineup it will be announced over at sennheiser.com which is the pro audio division that specializes in stage & studio gear.Does Sennheiser have a plan for a new of PRO series? I find the IE 40 Pro more comfortable than the IE 300. The shell is more rounded and fits better in my ear and it also goes deeper in the ear canal.Does Sennheiser have a plan for a new of PRO series? (100, 400, and 500). too early but I'm curious about the technical comparisons of kato, er2xr and jvc fd01(or fdx1) in the same price segment and similar tuning.

Just got my IE200, first impressions are quite positive.

They may even be my favorite from the ones i've had in IE lineup
IE900: overpriced, tuning was not quite for me.
IE600: very good, but also too close to my M9 price-wise while being inferior in every way (just my opinion and preferences)
IE200: baby-IE600, can't say how much less technically proficient without comparing side by side, but at least 80% as good, i also prefer plastic shells, they are very light and easier to use with my cables.

Although I wish the other models worked out I'm glad we finally found the "glass slipper" for you and that It lines up much better with your tastes. I see you rolled, but have you tried the dual tuning feature? Again welcome to the #IE200Club!Just got my IE200, first impressions are quite positive.

can I now connect a standard MMCX cable to the IE200?

Hi, thanks for the questions. First, regarding discontinuation: In EMEA and America, the IE 300 has been phased out in favor of the IE 200, as we believe the IE 200 is a superior product for most of our customers. As you may know, Asia's IEM market is much larger, so we'll wait a few months to see how the products can co-exist.MSRP of IE300 is 300 euros, Amazon offered them multiple times at 130-150 euros. Same thing will happen to IE200 only this time price will be reduced from msrp 149 euros to something like 80-100 euros respectively. It will happen most probably within 6-8months since launch, if not sooner. I already own IE300 so I can wait and like I said at reduced price IE200 can be a good offer just to get the extra cable and tips with "free" earphones as a bonus.
I admitt those initiall comparisons IE200 to IE600 can be a little confusing, but I guess that's a common theme hyping new products. IE200 should be compared to IE300 in the first place by most reviewers so I'm glad Headfonia did a great job instead of making ppl think IE200 is almost as good as IE600/IE900, and in some cases I've read as good as IE600... Those review sites and YT channel should be a little more realistic. But yeah if given a chance and with good discount my own ears will tell me definite and true version of the story. In the meantime I hope to see more reviews and user experiences regarding IE200 vs IE300.
And also Sennheiser why don't you release some statement regarding circulating rumors IE300 is being discountinued (why) and replaced by IE200?
During the development of the IE 200, we did extensive market research and found that most of our audiophile customers would have paid more than the final MSRP of $149. However, we aim to claim a significant market share in the "entry-level" category of In-Ears, and the IE 200 combines superlative performance at the ideal price point we've researched. This also means there is no need to discount to reach a better point in the price/demand curve. I assume the product will be supply constrained for a while, which also keeps the pricing stable.
Finally, individual perception of sound quality and tone preference differs much more with IEMs than with over-ear headphones. Our goal for the IE 200 was to create a truly neutral in-ear, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a more enjoyable listening experience, as most people still prefer the more exciting IE 600.
