DTR1 maybe could drive the HD650 in an approriate way, but an amp would be better to add for better dynamics. You made a good point, though.

The HD650 scales with better source and power. Also, there is not only the Dethonray amp available and able to do the job.

I get it. It’s the same with my dap when driving the Stellia (which needs much less power than HD650). It sounds nice but with an external amp the presentation is just grander. Looking forward to hearing the new amp one day (as well as the DTR1, which is hard to get a grip on here in the EU)

Hi, at https://www.glorioussound.com/product/dethonray-dtr1/ there are a couple of DTR1's on stock and they can ship almost immediately. Not sure about the Amp but they will definitely be able to get it. https://www.glorioussound.com/ is from the Netherlands but ships all over Europe.

This shop is also mentioned at the Dethonray website as there official sales channel,

I bought mine there, and am thinking about getting the Dethonray amp. ( not sure if I need it, but I am so curious)

Yes, K55 is an amazing place where you can try everything they have. Sennheiser HE1 was there last year... But their sortiment is somewhat limited. The prices are very competitive and Neel is a great person to deal with.
