What are you guys doing about headbands? That part of my D2000 is also wearing out, any mods anyone willing to share would be appreciated.

Martin from Martin Custon does leather headband work but be advised his lead times can be months..................

Putting a Sennheiser HD650 headband pad on will help with comfort and reduce the wear on it.  Applied with a bit of double stick tape, it is a good solution I've put on two of my Denon's.

Hi,
I don't know too much about Denons, just that they have very good bass. So an advice from you would be useful.
Someone is offering me a pair of D2000 for 200$. Is it a good price?

Currently I own the DT990 Pro for 2 years and I'm in the mood to change them although I like them. How is the D2000 compared to the DT990? Ilisten mostly to Hip Hop, Electronic, Soundtracks.

Thanks in advance for advice.

$200 for a D2000 is a good price for the current market.

Can't help on the comparison to the DT990, sorry.

I own both and find them similar with the main difference being the size/dimensions of the soundstage. My D2000's though came modded from ccasper. That and the denon's being closed gives greater isolation

Th600 is very comparable to D7000 so you could compare it to D7000.

I sold my Dt990 Pro and am probably keeping the D2000 (I also have Denons D600 which I quite like).
The D2000 has a better bass reproduction and goes lower in frequency than the Dt990 Pro,
It is slightly less airy than the dt990pro in the highs but very good for a (semi) closed headphone. In the mid ramge it is better than the dt990pro - more detail and fortunately not the sibilance (harsh s consonants) of the dt990pro.
Comfort-wise, it is a close call.
200 usd is a good price, you should always be able to sell them again for at least that (provided a good condition).
For easy listening the D600 is sometimes easier on the ears. The D2000 has more highs than the d600 and is more revealing of poorly produced recordings. The D600 also has slightly more bass than the D2000.

Agreed - good call. I have kept both my DT990 and D2000 - they are a good compliment to one another IMHO. The only other phone I am currently holding onto outside of those two is the Pioneer SE-A1000 as it has a great soundstage and runs pretty well unamped and is very comfortable for long periods of wear.

I like the combo of Beyer 990 and Denon 2000. Both have their flaws and strengths and seem to compliment each other well depending on what type of music you like. I used to listen to both a lot until I got my custom pair of MS2000's. The ms2000's seem to take all the flaws of the denon 2000, mostly weight, fragile adjustments and recessed mids and fix them. They also don't sweat like the denon 2000's on long listens. The beyer 990's I love the sound but after a while the Grado-esque sound begins to really fatigue.
