Denon AH-D7000

The D7000s have a sound that anyone from the general population can enjoy - for all genres.  Its a sound that a lot of people grew up with in their youth and is a refinement of that sound.  Probably explains the popularity of the TH900, although I've never heard them.  Nevertheless I think it's all good.

so the stock cable on the d7000 is way too long for my liking. thinking about cutting it, putting a balanced connector on the end, and using the 1/4" end to make an adapter. has anyone cut their stock cable and done this? i'm guessing the wiring is pretty straightforward.

or, i could also send it out to get it recabled altogether. in that case, who are the recommended recablers for the d7000? besides lawton...i'm not keen on the offerings he has on the website...

Yes I did that for my D-7000.  It's very easy, check out the link below for enlarged pics....

thanks for the pics...exactly what i wanted to know...didn't want to cut open the cable only to find that it was indecipherable in there.

thanks. i'm okay with the actual process - i've made my own cables and re-wired a few headphones as well... just wanted to know whether there was anything special about the d7000 cable before i actually cut them open. KZCloud89's reply helps a lot.

Recommend to recable it...stock cable is pretty bad...

I soldered a spare HD800 cable on (still too long, but just coil it up and velcro it).  Sounded way better than the Denon stock... DIY, it's pretty straight forward.

Hi,

Am I the only one having a problem with the smell of the faux-leather ear pads ?

I've washed them twice, dried them carefully, still that mix of foam and plastic smell.

You may say ears are supposed to ear, not smell, but that is a concern for me.

I've read the Angle Pad from Lawson were nice, but may modified trebles.

Any other options ?

Alpha pads ? Perfume ?

I tried the Alpha's on my D7000 and the Lawton angle pads.  Preferred the Lawton angles.
