I think RikudouGoku and BGGAR maintain lists. BGGAR to me is a bit random in his approach and some have said he favors certain vendors. But he comes up with good ideas from time to time but with caveats. Crinnacle seems to have a very specific sound he is looking for and not all may agree with that particular sound profile. In the case of Rikudou; I think he and I have similar tastes which makes it easier for me to follow his ideas. When we have overlapped on units I tend to agree with him. Though I think he is a bit more tolerant of the iBasso 00 than I would be.

Right now the amount of good options below $350 boggles my mind. Looking at head-fi I think there is user fatigue setting in. I am not sure what it would take to break through all the clutter.

Please don’t take this personal, but it’s hard to take a list serious when one of the top 5 IEMs on the planet is listed in the tier 2. This is not just me saying it.

He’s pulled a whole bunch of crap and somehow still maintains a following. When manufacturers refuse to send him free units he either gives their stuff terrible reviews or resorts to racial slur.

He’s also stolen tour units and killed an entire tour in the process.

He doesn’t dare show his face anywhere but on his own channel and Discord because the moment he does everyone lights him on fire and rightfully so

The Anole VX? :O Damn I just realized haha

It’s worth stating that tier 2 and tier 1 in my mind are pretty close to one another and are more down to preference and whatnot. The Anole is an IEM that I didn’t really vibe with personally, especially where the staging and upper midrange is concerned. It’s nice and really solid but yeahhh, I always found it quite boring myself. I owned it for like 2 days but sold it real fast

why is the a12t better than the U12t?

is it because custom flow sound better into your ear as I heard both are the same drivers?

It’s based on my experience with the two. 64 customs tend to go quite deep into the canal and I can personally hear better dynamics, treble extension and detail as well as a darker background when comparing it to the universal. It might be specifically to my ear canals though

The Anole is an IEM that I didn’t really vibe with personally, especially where the staging and upper midrange is concerned. It’s nice and really solid but yeahhh, I always found it quite boring myself. I owned it for like 2 days but sold it real fast

+1 on the VX being boring. For a similar price you can get the A12t that is much more versatile.
