Awesome, thanks.  According to my google-fi, a DAC designed for cellphones and tablet?.

How can D sound better when D has no DAC chip but X3 has one?

I have X3 1st gen here... and it sounds alright... I think it's a little behind iBasso R10 in terms of gain power. Its UI is better than that of iBasso R10.

its not about statistics. you can have the best chip but poor implementation will result in a terrible sound!
just compare x3ii and ak100ii. same dac but ak100ii is superior to x3ii, totally in a different league!
x3 is little behind ibasso hdp r10?

i think the hdp r10 is light years ahead lol

Final points summary, PD works well, the materials used (relatively the same price brick), still surplus space within, for a 2000mAh battery may be feasible in the future. Use master programme + audio codec simple, sophisticated but not portable Hi-Fi in our cognitive repertoire, more upgraded models such as the J3, just made a mistake when they change jobs, included a literary soft core but with a lighter pair of waistcoats.

Translated from the Chinese. What's he trying to say?

R10's UI and OS are light years behind X3 ...

X3 1st gen is at least functional without errors.

R10's UI and OS are junks... they make R10 unusable several times a day.
I sold R10... it sounds good for sure but it has too many problems. I don't trust iBasso's UI and OS engineering. They totally fail at this. Fiio is still better for that.

I want to try AK120 but it's too expensive for me at the moment....

ibasso has better sound. im a fiio user last time too but realise that other daps offer more in terms of sound.
all ak players are good but that is if you are willing to pay.

at Head-fi's trading section. Some sellers will sell it for that cheap. I got a brand new X3 1st gen for $112 include shipping.

Not exactly surprising. I'm sure when someone is selling their Plenue D in the trading section, it would be cheaper than MSRP too lol. Then wait for it to be a few years older and a newer generation to come out, then it'll be even cheaper on the trading markets just like the X3 is now.

I'm amazed you guys could access that stupid chinese website.
Not even google cached page would load that for me lol.

Ok I could read that cached text.
He was trying to say the internal design of the D is simple and straight-forward, very mature design but not like the "hi-fi" devices he usually sees. It is more like an upgrade of the J3. And it looks good on the outside but the inside is weak.

I think this guy was comparing it to those ridiculous chinese bricks. Those things tend to have many many components stuffed into them so they could be boasted as "hifi". But in the same time absolutely no effort was made in the design so they are ugly as hell. This guy clearly love this idea and probably biased against the D. He was praising the use of that audio chip at first but booed it at the end! Also the post was full of slang and other gibberish (which I don't fully understand), I would not consider this page to have any credibility.
Did you see the second link?  They did a tear down of the Plenue D and found that DAC inside.

I would like to note that a fellow member did that in this very thread a while ago. These is no need to browse that shady chinese website.

Yeah... $256 is too much to spend on something like this.

Because you can buy a Windows 10 laptop for that money.

Are Cowon guys offering greater technology value and information than this laptop? no...
They would make more sense at $140 price range.
