It is easy to estimate maximum output headphone amplifier power by using this equation:

Output Power in mille watts [mW] equal RMS Output Voltage Squared divided by Headphones Impedance in Ohms and all multiplied by 1000:

 mW

Cowon J3 Pout= 29 mW at 16 Ohm headphones;

Cowon M2 Pout= 29* mW at 16 Ohm headphones;

Plenue D Pout= 62.5 mW at 16 Ohm headphones;

Plenue M Pout= 250 mW at 16 Ohm headphones;

Plenue S Pout= 562.5 mW at 16 Ohm headphones.

Chip used in M2 can output maximum * 40 mW at 16 Ohms.

So at 62.5 the s can drive with autority cans up to 60 ohm?

I think you are wrong actually... you need some sort of digital out from the player ,does Plenue D have a digital out?
for what ?

Just got going with my PD. Upgraded to new firmware, impressions so far:

+great size and battery life
+good eq and sound. Not as good as PM but very musical and great bass
+fast boot up and shut down

-does not recognize 128 or 200gb sd cards. My PM sees both but not the D. Have formatted to Fat.
-quite laggy UI. I do hope it's fixed soon. Hardware buttons are faster.

It's actually smaller than I thought. Top right corners next to pwr button are sharp, will file down or get case. I'll do more tonight but a big improvement over the M2 in all respects unless the big as cards don't work. Build quality is excellent. I like a top mounted headphone jack too.

Looks easy to open up so may compare the innards to my dead M2 later.

fat32, when you format card to far32 even 200 gigs will work.
