just got the d last weekend and yesterday htc launched its new flagship 10 with 24bit dac. Lol how does the d compare to the 10 in terms of sound quality? what do you think?

I have a HTC M8 and mate... the sound quality isn't what it's cracked up to be. Can't touch the D.
 
People said the 9 was an improvement over the 8, and I'm sure the 10 will continue that trend but I'm still pretty skeptical after getting frankly burnt by the M8 on this front.

Unfortunately it looks like the database is still capped (looking at the Korean Manual), it's hard to say but it looks like 8,000 max internal, 16,000 external, or therabouts.

EDIT: Judging from those specs I would expect a sub $500USD price point. My money is around $399USD. It's really a posh mans M2.

Internal memory: 8000 files + 4000 folders maximum
External: 16000 files + 8000 folders max.

Hi guys!

I just bought the PD and i really like it so far.
My only complaint is the UI. It isnt horrible or something, but i think it could be done better.
Does anyone know if there are any resources on programming a Custom UI? I'd love to try it myself!
(I've got some expierience with C, C++ and Python)

There's a different UCI posted on the Korean site http://cowon.co.kr although the secondary font is too small, IMO. It might be worth checking you have the latest FW, Last update was 1.11 (Korean site).

It would be great if someone could code a UCI like the one Kizune did on the J3 (I think it was called Leaf). It has a bunch of little things that made it better. I kinda miss it on the PD...

Only 1 way to tell and that's to try it for yourself. The soundstage is wider with FW 1.11. It sounded great on first listen but left me with a splitting headache using BBEViva2 setting using full size phones. Mrs T didn't like it either.
 
I don't use the EQ much so it may be 1 or a few presets. I went back to 1.10.

Changing firmware is easy enough. You should really try it for yourself to see if you like it.
