very nice! Hmm, that's an 86. . . isn't the thought of some 16 year old kid enjoying a lambo enough as payment?

It is very nice indeed. Its in perfect shape as well. Just had a full checkup by authorized dealer and a new clutch for a nice $10,000 service charge

I think my friend is looking to get something around $100,000 for it which includes delivery in the continental US. Any takers? (I'm looking for a commission

NSU Ro80. One of the first rotary/wankel engine cars. About 1970.

Yeah darius, how do you get friends like that?

Those lambos and ferrari checkup charges scare me. I mean, I've seen ads for these cars where having a yearly checkup is a MAJOR selling point.

It's not just the service & maintenance costs, try getting a quote from your insurance agent. I knew someone with a Ferrari 512BB back in the mid 80's who was paying 12K/yr just for insurance. I guess it's only money.

Actually my friends insurance for the Diablo is not very high. Can't remember the exact amount but it was not very much. The car is not driven all year round if much at all. Plus this is not something someone steals. What would you do with a stolen Diablo? Keep it in garage for ever? Even for parts, where would one sell them? The owners of cars like this don't look for hot parts.

I used to pay something like $450/month for my Mitsubishi 3000 GTSL years back (95-97).

Actually most of my friends have very normal cars. Just a few lucky ones or should I say good business man.

I used to have the Mitsubishi 3000 GTSL which I sold back in 97. No need for two cars in the house. Now I have this awesome one http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/attac...&postid=277557 Just think of the horse power

The times of fast cars are long gone. I remember the time when I had my computer store we would have one (my) silver 3000 GTSL (93), one green 3000 VR4 (94) and one red 3000 GT (95) parked in front of the store. You can be sure all the babes in the area knew us well

But then I sold my store, got a real job, got married and got back to reality

Someone stole a brand new Viper from a dealership near here, used a Prowler to bring the window out so he could drive the Viper out. He parked it in a garage about 8 miles or so from the dealership if I remember correctly. They caught him like a year later (bad memory even though it wasn't to long ago) when he was selling part of it on ebay. Just goes to prove there is no point in stealing such expensive cars

Shelby Mustang, 1967, Automatic. thats right, you heard me, automatic. Only 3 made, this is one. Perfectly mint, original paint (3 chips), Blue. The first muscle car I have ever seen. I sat in it 2 weeks ago!!!

C'mon... he's gotta be ********ting you. They're have to be more than just 3 automatic. What was it... a 350 or 500?

1962 Cobra with full scream 289. 4 dual choke Wbers, Crane roller and kit, 14:1 pistons and Sunoco 260. 178 thru the traps on the back straight at Daytona. 0 to 100 to 0 in 11 flat. Absolute the most fun you can have with your clothes on, or off. Miserable ride, God awful loud, blisters on feet, butt and hand, but a rush that is beyond belief.

The H2 is technically a Hummer. Son-in-law is a Chevy dealer and has sold a couple and one H1. He says the Tahoe is a far better and more capable vehicle for a lot less money. They are selling the hell out of the H2's, just so they can make Ariana Huffington mad. The Tahoe ahs more usable room, more usable power (it's lighter) a better ride, just as good off road for the 1% of buyers that will ever do that and costs a bunch less.

I'm sure it's possible to get reasonable rates, but the guy I knew bought the Ferrari to DRIVE it, and used daily except in the winter. I'm sure that matters when obtaining a policy. I think that's what I admired most; not that he could afford to have the car, but that he had it because he loved driving it and really used it. It's unfortunate that so many cars are unobtainable to most of us because of their "investment" value

Personally, I think Ferrari on the streets are like stallions in a stable. If you do drive them 'properly', you can't for very long (legally or safely).

I remember seeing a 360 Modena on the 403 near Toronto. Jeez, should have seen how quickly he exited before that section with the nasty bumps & potholes! Now that's practical.

If I lived near the autobahn, then its a different story.

This is probabaly the rental Shelbys that were made for Hertz.

That's right, once upon a time you could rent one. All the Hertz cars came with autos AFAIK and according to my friend who owns a 68 GT350.

ok,
erix
