I've been in this one a few times:

Now, he got the car for about $13K and put at least that much into modding it. He will never be finished modding it. He knows the ins and outs of each and every mod he does to it. Very well educated person when it comes to this car model.

Maybe some day he'll let me drive it

Toyota Sera (my avatar), not fast actually but surely an eye catcher, especially if you open the door

I also have tried mitsubishi FTO, it's very nice, great acceleration.

Ferrari f550. Only got to ride in it.

My car I drive in every day is the coolest car I've driven though. Could be because its fast, or it could be because its MINE

I used to manage a mid-fi/high end audio store. Besides home stereo we also did all of the local high end autosound/security installations.

One of our best customers was a local surgeon. He liked to buy new exotic cars every couple of years so we would do an installation and then a couple years later he would bring the car back to have the stuff removed before he sold it.

After we completed the installation he would have us take the cars out to check the radar detector. Because of this I got to drive:

Porsche 944 Turbo convertible - His wifes car. Not bad. Looked cool. and was relatively fast.

1995 Ferrari F 345 Spyder - (maybe it was a '355) This thing had cool all over it. The sound of the engine was magnificent. The top was down and it was a beautiful day. No wind noise at all like other convertibles. I had a smile on my face for the entire day.

Dodge Viper- I'm not sure what year, I thing it was the first year they made them. I had no idea what this was and sort of dissed it expecting it to be all looks and little performance. BOY WAS I WRONG! When I got it out into the street, hit 2nd gear and punched it, I about crapped myself. That was probably the most exciting car I have ever driven.

Lamborghini Diablo - This was one of the "Alpine" show cars. Looked cool and went pretty fast. But kind of a POS and seemed more like a toy that a serious car. If I were going to spend that kind of money on a car I'd go for the Ferrari.

In addition to these I also enjoyed a few 911's, and some big BMW's (7 series). I also got to drive a Delorean. The Delorean was a total pooch. Somebody told me that they put a little Saab engine in it?

Anyway, besides being able to buy good hi fi cheap, that was probably the best perk of the job.

Oh, I forgot about a couple of others....

My buddy had a 60 Vette with the small engine in it (not the 455, or whatever it was). That looked cool and was fun to drive. He also had a kit Cobra with a big ass Ford engine in it. I only got to take that one around the block right before he sold it. It was cool also but he was always tearing the rear end out of it. Too much power for the rear axle, I guess.

Z06's are great in the corners.

They have a good balance and will power right through a corner if you hold it right. Some of the best autocrossers in the nation drive z06's in the SS class. Of all the cars in the SS class they probably require the least amount of modification in the suspension to really shine. Great cars. I'll still take my rx7 over one though

My friend's dad had a Porsche 911 Turbo...a '96 I think, and he would let us take it out all the time. It is just amazing how quick that car is. You stomp on the gas, and you feel as if are connected to an endless well of acceleration. Its fantastic.

I bought my 16 year old daughter a 2002 Ford Focus SVT.This thing is a blast. It handles as well as any front drive car I have ever driven. It's not that fast but the chassis is near perfect. There is a large bit of understeer but the steering is light and quick and the brakes are phenomonal. You can blast this little car around corners at near full speed. The drivetrain seems nearly indestructable.I can bang off full-throttle clutchless upshifts without any protests from the trans or clutch. It also came with Pilot Sport tires and they are fantastic. It could use a bit more power but everything else including the great seats and shifter are top-notch.The stereo is incredible. It is the very best I have heard in any car, including my Vette,My wife's car's and my Dad's Cadillac. It has what sounds to be credible imaging and real seperation of instrument with killer bass. This little car is an incredible bargain and with the 0% financing I got,it's a steal.
