Comfortable headband for Grado PS1000

The PS1000 is the most comfortable Grado I've worn but it's also the heaviest. A thicker headband would be welcome. The jmoney was the only alternative that I was aware of so I'll have to check out Martin Custom Audio. It's a bit of a shame that the Melbourne Head-Fi meet clashes with the first week of the footy finals. I would have brought the PS1000 along but the G beckons.

I know what you mean- I've got a footy tipping breakup that night here in Brisvegas so I'll be out of action for the weekend :p Check out headphile.com, they do interesting mods on most headphones.

You thought about going custom?

A leather goods specialist should be able to knock-up something with or without lambs wool. Plus it would be unique, perfect for the PS1000.

A good auto trimmer who works on classics should be able to knock one up in his sleep with leather of your choice.

I hadn't really considered looking locally, an auto trimmer is a great idea. I was thinking about doing something myself, but given my track record it takes me a few goes to get things right- can't really afford to do that with my beloved PS1000's. Thanks!

Thanks for all the ideas- I ended up buying a headband and yokes from Audeze and using the Grado rods- the Audeze band adjusts with a grommet screw, so even though the Grado rods are slightly narrower I just put a little tape around them and tightened the screw. The cups don't move around or adjust without loosening the grommet screw, but they sit more comfortably & clamp a little more & stay put on my head- much better!
It wouldn't be too difficult to screw the Audeze rods onto the Grado cups using a small bolt & washer, which I don't have but will be buying soon, it would allow normal adjustment & look better I think! Also, the cups no longer rotate 360deg so no more cable twisting.
Worked out well, nothing permanent & comfy :D
