China has everything eh?
I guess we can expect something like a Hugo from China for $500 in 20 years. or not.

Well, they've got the know-how while the parts required are also easily acquired

Ouch, now we're calling $25 cables expensive and I can't even find the right word for AK380 etc.

Seriously, "taobao agent" could be the keywords if we don't mind paying some fees plus international shipping. Other than that, most likely Dita Audio in China should be happy to help?

Latest ones from China should cost $45 with aluminium alloy connectors, though that particular right-angled micro USB connector might not be compatible with Hugo's recessed jacks

Yet another seller is offering options for Walkman and Hugo and I could see the Walkman logo

$5 (30 RMB) for DIY parts

WMC-NWH10 is 197 RMB from that seller

As usual we could also import the DIY parts for Walkman

Micro USB connectors should be easily found anywhere else

Then pay someone to make a cable locally instead of going through "taobao agent" with sometimes relatively "shocking" international shipping.

Please forgive me if this is a really stupid question or if it has already been answered; but I see that several people have listened to the Hugo through Stax SR-009s, and some have used the same type amp I have, a Spritzer KGSSHV. The question I have is if the Hugo only has unbalanced RCA outputs, how do you connect it to the KGSSHV, which only has balanced XLR inputs? Do you use some kind of converter, or do you connect the Hugo up to a preamp or something?

Thanks very much!

I have a question.  I bought a chord hugo 2nd hand from a head-fi'er and I accidently ran 19v electricity through it (forgot to turn down the external battery).  So now my Hugo is fried.  Can this be fixed or do I have to buy a new one?

I would contact Chord. I would imagine there are a few chips that need to be replaced.

Will need to go back to chord for one of two things, hopefully the protection circuit is fried which is the much cheaper problem. However if it is the board then that could be costly.
