Warming I get , but the burnin thing is just too much for me. As an example why does all the devices alway get better over time and not worse this alone makes it nonsense to me.
Second ad the device is being designed just hiw much does the designer take into account of the parts being used. My guess in this is plenty as some do chNge over time and a design goal in both spec,s and in voicing it must be considered. But no ones knows all the devices put other and how they will sound in let's say 500 hours of burn in.
Then take into account the manufacturing of the device and it's ever changing compOnent values.

Perhaps topics on burn-in should go to another thread? A bit contested/ heated area...

I am not an admin and not looking to go off topic but I think it does belong here as it's part of buying new products. And given plenty of people here have different opinions on the sound of the hugo it's very worthwhile by me. Him much can best to death connectors that will fit or not.

I never turn off digital gear, ever.  If you have to, then give them 48 hours for the clocks to settle in. Seriously.

Yes, as has been reported here multiple times, the volume bypass is a misnomer.  It is simply a preset, set to 3V, so Rob could a/b with the Qute series when testing.  Me, I have to turn it down slightly more to get to 2V, the max voltage for my Concert Fidelity preamp.  (Note:  even with all this potential volume-induced noise the Hugo is still king.  :) )  BTW, the Hugo will put out way more than 3V if listening at max...so be aware of these issues when sending the signal to a preamp, integrated amp, etc.

i have a strange question does the sound quality change if the battery is fully charged or close to being empty

today its fully charged and everything sounds great, when I have the battery indicator showing red I feel that the sound quality is less than optimal is that an illusion on my side

Yup, mpd has been able to play dsd for a while now - almost two years if you're tracking git or vortexbox builds, as a matter of fact.
As for free dsd samples; http://www.2l.no/hires/

Great link, thank you.  I tried 24/96, 24/192, DSD 64, and DSD 128 and nothing worked except 24/96 which had some dropouts.  This could be due to the iFi iLink though.
