When are you going to fix the multiple Poly outputs? It’s now almost June 2018 and it is still there. The Astell & Kern app doesn’t suffer from this problem (which is a free app by the way).

We put in a workaround for this months ago, but if you were affected by it then you may need to delete and re-install Glider to clean things up.

Yes, twice. Once the battery runs down, which at max is maybe 12 hours for a fully charged poly, it will work ok again once recharged.

It just seems that their is a bug that is causing some poly’s to lock up.

It’s no bigdeal, but it is a pain in the .... but she does come alive again once the battery gets depleted or like one poster mentioned, opening up poly and disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting the battery.

Both times my poly locked up, gofigure would give me “bluetooth not enabled, please swipe up to enable bluetooth”, error or something similar, seconds before poly would lock up.

Bluetooth was enabled on both ocassions.

As I said, it’s no big deal, as it does not damage poly.

Even with Poly being a bitch at times, when it works, it is exceptionally good. < I mean that, plus I need atleast one great sounding portable device that I can take into hospital with me every now and then.

Although I’ve been known to wind folk up and at times be a trolling Mother Paul Huca with regards to Poly, I have to give credit where credit is due. Poly is infinitely more usable than before and also much more user friendly. It still has its bad days however, but dont we all ?

When it comes to the crunch, Mojo combined with Polys capabilities makes the combo very hard to beat in the under £1000 price range. To be honest, I dont think it can be beat ?

If Chord can fix the lockup bug and a couple of others, £900 really is a bargain for both devices, put them into the Chord / Van Nuys premium leather case and watch everyone drool over it.

I am hoping that CanJam London is where Chord release the 2go addon for hugo2 ??? < would love for that to happen this year.

I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and now I can connect to gofigure. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app?

Yes, tried that the first time before my poly locked up.

I deleted the app, turned off my phone and restarted it and also mojo poly.

I think I had some success deleting gofigure and redownloading it, cant exactly recall, but I am sure it stopped the bluetooth error, but it still locked up.

However the second time it locked up, all I did was, picked up mojo n poly and my phone, turned them on, phone was already on, opened gofigure and boom, headshot and lockup.

I think you're the first to report having had multiple lockups? Initially it was claimed that it was down to a problematic/faulty firmware update and that once it'd happened it wouldn't happen again. Have you informed Chord directly?

My Poly locked up for the second time a week ago. Both my lock ups happened when changing modes through GoFigure and then triggering a reboot. This time it was when disabling the password option for the Poly’s hotspot. Luckily I had brought with me an umbrako key for this purpose so I opened it up and disconnected the battery, which restored the unit (I was on a long flight and didnt have time to let the battery drain).
The casing is a close fit so getting it opened carefully not to break it was a pain but disconnecting and reconnecting the battery was easy.
So in conclusion my «binned pin» just got bigger...

I will chime in here as well, even though I do not own a Poly. I hope thats ok. I know that one should not get too attached to objects emotionally (especially the ones one does not own) but for some reason the Poly release manages to push my buttons.

I have followed the thread from the day it was opened. Back than I was still using a Mojo as the first DAC with which I could dip my toes into audiophile waters. It was a revelation to me personally and the thought of it going cableless was extremely exciting. I was planning to buy one when the module was first hinted at before its release.

When the announcement of the price of the poly came I was a little less excited. But the promised features (Roon endpoint! Yay!) at least seemed to somehow justify its rather steep price. Delay after delay followed and when the Poly finally was released it was a mess. I talked to my local audio dealer and they could barely get any of their units to run reliably.

To me it seems that this is still the case for a rather large proportion of the userbase. Of course it is possible that my perception is scewed due to a vocal minority that articulares their frustration via headfi. I doubt that is the case but of course I could be wrong.

Sadly a large number of Polys promised features (which were used in justifying the steep price in the first place) are still not available. For me the lack of the Android App (and no real communication with regards to is release) symbolises this.

I think I feel frustrated because of three things particularly:

1) A company that I admire and one of whos products (Hugo 2) now forms the center of my daily enjoyment of music seems to really really be dropping the ball hard on this one. As somebody who has absolutely no idea about how good management of companies works, it subjectively seems to me that this release and its aftermath has been dealt with extremely poorly. Some arrogant answers by their representatives did not help either. It blows my mind how anybody would defend this behavior. Companies can make mistakes but should have the courage to own up to them.

2) It seems to me that not enough resources were invested to get the software side of things going. I get why, its expensive, Chord is not in the software business etc pp. But as a modern hifi company it seems to be the way forward to eliminate all possible barriers between the user and the product. KEF LS50 Wireless seems to be another decent example. So it is my laymen perspective that Chord should double down on this approach and therefore needs to get their software side of things in order. I am (hopefully superflously) very worried that the future for the company might look bleak otherwise.

3) I finally want my very own 2Go. But I am worried it wont see the light of day because Chord might decide to cancel its development due to those pesky issues with the Poly.

EDIT: spelling

You have really big feelings.

I wasnt the first to lockup, chord knew about it as they told me, however I dont know if I am the first to experience it twice ?

Could I really be that lucky ? if so, why that and not my lottery tickets ?

Even though I never followed their exact update instructions, simply because they pushed the update before I was aware of it and I could not follow their step by step guide because it had already flashed.

One thing I am certain of, and thats, this is a bug and not related to a dodgy firmware flash. Reminds me of soviet russia.

In Soviet Russia, Chord Poly does not have bugs, Bugs have Chord Poly.

Over the years, I must have flashed whatever devices in excess of 200 - 300 times, and with one exception and which was my fault, I have never had an firmware update go rogue on me.

The one that did, it was because I was lazy and couldnt be arsed unplugging the thing from the usb ports on my keyboard and then rummaging around the back of my pc to plug it in, that mistake cost me £400.

Now we know what the price of lazy is, it’s fo hunnard, w00t w00t call teh amberlamps.

Anyway, when poly works, it is excellent, I cannot fault her, but, there is a bug/s and as far as I can tell, it may have something to do with bluetooth ?

To be honest, I have given up caring whether the thing works or not, Ive got two years of a no BS hassle free warranty from my dealer, plus another 3 and a half on top via consumer law, so I will wait to see if new updates cure it. All this carry on has made poly lose its shine :(

Shine can only be replaced by buying more shiny things, it really does, mastercard however, they disagree with my theory :(

I do still believe that if chord can work out the bugs, i do believe that the combo would/will be a dap killer, its just taken longer than expected.

Sounds like solid progress.
I had a recommendation for chord, and that was just to release an empty shell of an Android app that allows you to toggle roon mode on and off, that one feature is worth releasing, and so easy you’d imagine.

NaiveSound gunna take a schiit when he finds out he has to wait atleast another 4 weeks lol < too funny, but saying that, I would also be rageon if I was in his shoes.

Losing his mojo and then polying about in water at xmas time, to then come in second in the ios and droid tug o war.

That gotta hurt, its enough to give someone a heart attack.

However, props to chord for giving up the beta hookup.

Was gunna say, here’s my email, but......

Yea,

I sigh kick

Just look for Paul Huca in your warranty serial number db, you will find me between A to Z and the number 7

Kicking and screaming would have occured.

I believe you.

I also believed you when you wrote, "as somebody who has absolutely no idea about how good management of companies works..."

You made a lengthy smear of Chord for the purpose of satisfying your emotions over a product you do not own, nor purchased.

I hope you feel satisfied.
