I finally made it through over 100 pages! I live in Mexico and as there are no Poly dealers here that I know of I ordered one from Amazon UK as they ship to Mexico. It's on its way but seems to be hung up in Mexican customs. (I have visions of them scratching their heads wondering what it is!) I wanted to thank all you trailblazers out there for all the questions and comments as I feel well prepared for the arrival of my unit.

I do want to confirm one thing. From my reading it appears that there is no way to play Tidal offline music through the poly from an Android device, only an Apple device through airplay. Am I correct in this? (I may need to return to the Apple fold after a 3 year android experiment)

Just finally powered on. Didn't find my phones hotspot at first, but I think that was more an issue with my phone than the poly as I turned the hotspot off and back on and it connected very quickly. Playing around with some apps but I do have something I am not sure about.

I use spotify at work, but do not connect to any wifi. Using my phones hotspot I went into spotify to try and connect to the poly and nothing showed up under devices (or whatever its called). The manual states it can be used when on wifi, so I do not know if that means I am out of luck when using the hotspot? That would really be a shame as thats a big use case for me and one I thought was covered.

Must be honest and say that I can't get Neutron to work either. I seem to be able to get it to play to start with, but then if I try to move to a different track from a different album it freezes. Shame, because it looks good.

as you can see he is ignoring anything regarding the SD apps play back , which i think is an after thought idea for them
i was going to order with my next paycheck ,, but now after seeing that there is almost none exciting appropriate way to play SD card files through playback app ,
Poly is useless for me ..

Neutron works fine. It has LOTS of configuration options and you need to learn what they do. Many other apps work too - malp, mpdroid, theramin, bubbleupnp, and an ios app are the ones I've used. Some are better than others. Google for good mpd apps and research them. Run an mpd server locally and try some out. malp is my favourite.

Poly is a complex device - you have to invest some time in educating yourself on how to use its features.

In any case, for me, I am pretty happy with a combination of MPDluxe (for when on wifi) and 8Player (for when out and about). With the promise of microSD control from the forthcoming app, MojoPoly is doing the business.

I’m having an issue with MPDLUXE.
Upon setting the ip address as: 192.168.0.1 +port as 6600, I get connection failed.

Any ideas?

Try 192.168.1.1 with the same Port.

Could you kindly explain where to set up access to the Poly's mSD within Neutron?

Under "Settings go to "MediaLibrary", then the first entry "Sources", then touch the "+" Sign in the lower right, there you have it: choose "UpnP/DLNA", then you could see your "Chord Poly:[yourpolyname][Server], touch it, next touch "Browse Folders" or "Music" then you should see your music on the SD-Card (ALAC-Files invisible, don`t ask me why...) also .dsf aka DSD Files are not visible for this you need another Player as MPDluxe.

OK, i was in error, your files (even .dsf DSD-Files will be visible after Neutron has scanned your SD-Card. You can play them on the iDevice, but trying to set poly as renderer always brings this app down, crashes on me and the app is getting unresponsive. Buggy as Hell and a UI for Klingons. It would be really nice to have this app working, but no, i tried hard (iPhone 8, iOS 11.1.1).

Yes, Airplay/uPnP/DLNA.

Alright a couple things here, getting a hang of this thing and I definitely like it.

First, my media library seems to rebuild each time I power on. I know another user had experienced the same thing and I know there was supposed to be a fw update soon to address, but I see no where to even check to update the firmware or see what version is installed.

Second, has anyone had success with Spotify connect? I have tried both on my home network and using my phone hotspot and the poly just doesn't show up in available devices in Spotify. Am I doing something wrong? I can however use Bluetooth and just stream my phone's audio, but I know that's supposed to be secondary and can lower audio quality.

Finally got Personal Hotspot working on my iPhone 6 plus iOS 11.2 beta3...
For anyone wondering... and not sure if related to the beta... besides not using spaces and non alpha numeric / special characters don't use upper case in your SSID name.
I changed to all lower case and the Poly finally connected to my iPhone.

Unfortunately, I still cannot connect to the Poly with the MPDluxe app. Tried and alternative MPDjs and it shows the the IP 192.168.1.1 is correct but refusing connection
