I forgot to add that I'm on a Mac.
Regardless of USB settings, mine doesn't go into USB DAC mode on connection, so I'm guessing that my one is faulty.

Hi everyone, long time lurker but first time poster. I own a paw6000 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with both the paw 6000 and the N7 (I haven’t seen any comparisons). Would the N7 be a worthwhile upgrade from the lotoo?

I had the Paw a few years back now, it was a great sounding dap, I enjoyed it a lot. The N7 though has a much more of an organic and natural sound with no trace of digital glare, and a bigger soundstage to play with. The notes have more of a richness within that stage and never sound thin. It just draws you into the music and makes you fall in love with songs that you know inside out, as if you're listening to them for the first time. It makes the music really live!

As has been mentioned before though is that it does get pretty toasty using Amp mode A and the battery life isn't as good as the Paw either. Overall though if that doesn't bother you then the N7 would be a great upgrade over the Paw in my opinion.

Will Roon (ARC) ever be able to play properly lossless hi-res on the N7?

Have to say been quite enjoying listening to SACD ISO, limited though my selection may be, I may need to buy and rip more off m :)

Sometimes i hook up the C9, mostly its just the Focal Clear straight up :)

I'll be absent from duty till early next week. Start to feel uncomfortable after visiting a very crowded mall last weekend, and tested positive for COVID-19 Using RAT on Monday morning. I maintained minimum interaction with the Cayin team during the past few days but I quarantine myself in my bedroom most of the time. Hopefully, I can resume my normal working pattern by Monday. :beerchug:

Hi
Am I missing something or is N7 showing the same firmware bug as RS8 playing Redbook Flac songs in Tidal and Qobuz in 48khz with the exception of UApp?
@Andykong
It seems you’re right @FooFighter

44.1 kHz on Qobuz app but 48 kHz showing on top of N7’s screen :

The bug is fixed in v1.3 firmware, please test and keep us posted if you have encounter similar problem after updated to v1.3 firmware.

Get well soon Andy and appreciate yours and the teams effort in rolling out the latest firmware and features! The selectable PCM to DSD conversion output was an unexpected and appreciative feature!

Also MQA 16x unfolding is better - whether this was an optimization or Tidal app update - still glitchy but better.

The bug is fixed in v1.3 firmware, please test and keep us posted if you have encounter similar problem after updated to v1.3 firmware.

Confirming bit rate display bug has been fixed!
