Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
May 21, 2020 at 10:16 AM Post #4,351 of 8,213
Can any other N6ii (E02)+Audeze LCD-i4 owners share their EQ setup? Preferably something that works across genres like jazz, rock and electronic music.

Cheers!!
I would appreciate your advice, a little off topic. I just bought the Audeze i3s connected with my iphone via cipher cable and using Qobuz. I was shocked that this combo sounded at least as good as using my i3s with my Hiby R5. With this observation, I have been rethinking my plans to upgrade by R5 to something like the Hiby N6 Pro,the N6ii, or one of the other offerings in the mid DAP range. For one thing, the display on the R5 is too small to play with the equalizer settings in UAPP. I don’t mind spending the money on a new DAP if it’s a serious upgrade. %90 of my music is HD Streaming via Qobuz or listening to downloaded music from this streamer. I also have the basso it04 and the Fostex TH-x00. BTW, I think that the usability of the Hiby software is very good—it’s stable and reasonably fast. Thanks a lot.

Amp E02 is shipped a matter of few days till it lands in my hands 🕋🥳

A few extra thoughts here.
Now playing with n6ii for last 5 days which 2 first days with t01 and then 2 with a01. Now I am back to t01 and sharp roll off.
Yes it hits higher with treble but dang T01 just sound more elaborated more accurate with a more natural sound tonality.
I feel good synergy here.

It has a very good tight bass vs a01. Less thick and warm but very natural. Unfortunately treble notes can often be a little to sharp depending on tracks where there is big treble action happening....

For me T01 is a better choice over A01.
But at same time they are very different to ech other.

T01 more technical naturally sounding, good dsd filter options.
Can be set in slow roll-off filter and be very musical just as A01.

A01 is warmer thicker and more analog. This amp is very silky and well refined feels smooth delicate and gentle. It has good technicality but its strength is pleasure warmth and melt down the chocolate 😆
While you can set it to fast roll-off for better accuracy and precision with a more natural sense in sound. I do like its slow roll off filter to, I would say just experiment and see which filter suits you. I keep swapping between bothe.

Which IEM/HP is this T01 impression with?

Cayin did such an excellent job with each motherboard design. They are each very good in their own way :)

BTW, my impression of E01, I'll borrow the words from Twister's review, and say "A01 kind of sounds like it’s in between E01 Class A and AB.". Otherwise E01 is little bit quieter, wider soundstage, slightly more neutral tonality (less thick than A01), but best of all, much better grip (punch, dynamics). I love it that you can go class A and enjoy a smooth and rich Jazz and then go class AB for some fast metal/EDM. I think it tops everything compared to DX228FE. I certainly don't feel the need to try E02... unless it goes real cheap on memorial day holiday sale or something :)

It was done with something that only a few mortals can own on this planet 😏

The all mighty Tia Fourte Noir with symbio eartips and pw1960 4wires cable

Nice investment :) I love PW cables but can't seem to make that next step, lol.

Hi guys and @Andykong
Does the N6ii shared SPDIF/3.5mm output not work as a digital signal to my external DAC?

I'm using a 3.5mm to SPDIF cable from Hiby and it doesn't seem to output any signal.

I think you have to select that as output. Swipe down from the top and there is an icon, you'll figure it out.
Of course, I could be wrong. I don't think I have optical on E02

One of the iem and even beats many many headphones! Fourte noir is one exceptional beast it can deliver such sound that is very hard to even come close. I see fourte noir and pw1960 as unique and special in caracter as wm1z! Yes I also feel n6ii being special in sound profile, I prefer n6ii over N8 isnt that strange )

Believe it or not but I once did a/b blood fight sennheiser he 1 vs tia fourte + wm1z LoL. The titanic 55 000 $ system vs 7 000 portable gear and back then I didn't have the pw1960!
Heckkk I preferred my fourte and 1z over the he1 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙂😏

I’ve tried that and still no signal to both my DAC and another amp with built in DAC.

Reboot?
See in cayin music app for setting whats ther maybe you need to select different setting for usb out?
I know you can force usb setting over the app....

Do you see the red light in the output? If it optical should have that or maybe its off

Perhaps the 3.5mm single ended line out doesn't support digital output

That's an insane comparison! :) As good as these DAPs and IEMs are, I still prefer my Stax and HD800 for the best sound. Whatever floats your boat, I guess! :)
