I'm happy to report that my new cable fixed my transfer issues with my PC. I bought an Anker Powerline + cable. I also picked up an Aukey USB C to USB 3.0 OTG adapter. I can report that the OTG storage works with this adapter without any issues when using a Sandisk cruiser 128 gig flash drive. I have not tested battery life when using OTG, but will in due time.

bear in mind than N3 can only send/receive at USB 2.0 velocity

We have evaluated the situation and confirmed that this can't be done.

The transmit and receiving function of Bluetooth required the device to operate in different mode, and the paired devices will established a boss-subordinate relationship (Host device and Client device). When N3 receive a file from your mobile via BT, the mobile is the host device and N3 is a client only. Once the N3 entered a client mode, all communication and operation will be directed by the hosted device, the client will be forced to receive file and play along as the host device take charge. On the other hand, you can only change the output setting of N3 when the DAP is operated as host, since you are not allowed to change the host/client relationship in the middle of a connection, so we have no choice but to disconnect BT connection before we change the output option.

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you, I was told we can't do this immediately but I didn't find out the technical reason until recently.

Thank you for the explanation. may i suggest: would it be possible to have the option to choose making the line out as a default output setting? so everytime we turn it on it will be in line out level?
i am aware that the device always default in headphone out mode as a safety precautions, but it really would be helpful for me (or maybe others too) that always use the N3 with external amps to default in line level.

Why does the N3 start to create cracking/popping noise when on usb dac after a while and then disconnects and then says usb unrecognized device until I restart the computer ? Is it a power issue ? I've tried all usb dacs mode including slowest/safest and I've tried with 2 computers straight from USB motherboard, same thing. Any ideas ?

Hi, is the N3 normal when it isn't on USB DAC mode? What is operating system of your computer? Did you have any special settings on your PCs? I just tried it and couldn't reproduce your situation at all and N3 was normal on my side.

Can anyone tell me how the N3 handles pause and resume on music and podcasts? Is there a sleep function so that play resumes at the point where you stop listening?

I'm also having trouble finding a case for sale in the UK. Anyone know where to get them?

Cheers

Hi, you can click on the pause/play button to pause or resume the music. Yes, there is a sleep function so that play resumes at the point where you stop listening. Here is the contact method of UK retailer:

Guys i noticed a problem with my cayin. I turned it off and charged it. About 4 or 5 hours later, its charged to 100 percent. I took the cable off. But then in the morning when i turned it on, its only 95%.

What is your current firmware? Maybe you can update its firmware to latest version to have a try.

What are then the options to get a digital out from N3? If I want to use the N3 just as source an use an external dac?

as far as I can see:

1- N3 usb-C out -> cable usb-C to 3.5mm (like the cayin one) -> 3.5mm in of external dac
2- N3 usb-C out -> cable usb-C to USB female -> USB male from external dac
3- N3 usb-C out -> cable usb-C to digital coaxial (exists?) -> digital coaxial in from external dac

Am i Right? there are another options?

For #1 - I guess I haven't seen the new SPDIF cable, which has the 3.5mm 2-pole plug on the end.
For #2 - That's the standard USB output, that you'd use with any USB DAC.
For #3 - I thought the original Cayin SPDIF cable was a USB-C to RCA digital output cable

There is a #4 - The N3 has Bluetooth w/aptX output.

@CayinSupport

So, the v2.1 description says, "3. Remove the incorrect status display when playback multi-channel WAV document."

What does this mean, exactly? I still see "Unknown Album, Unknown Artist" scrolling past during WAV playback.

In V2.0, the multi-channel WAV tiles will mistaken as multi-channel DSD, and the status actually mark it as a DSD, we have corrected the status display in v2.1

Even after upgrading N3 with V2.1, there is a problem that has stayed. With {Folder operation} turned on, trying to delete songs fails and leads to a message 'deletion failed'. Is there a solution for this?
