solaris SE was limited to 500? seems like there are quite a bit in the classified section, unlike the mw10
If I’m not mistaken, the SE was originally limited to 750 and then Campfire upped it to 900.

Ah yes, well said my friend....sigh.....

Edit...or, the limit will be whenever Campfire runs out of extra OG/SE shells lmao

Looking forward to more impressions!

Both are pretty good with the Solaris SE. I find that the AKM side is more dynamic and precise with a 'taller' stage whereas the ESS side seems to emphasis the mids and make them more expansive while aiming for coherency. Which side I choose usually depends on what music I'm listening to.
Same, though I rarely choose the ESS side, not sure why. It sounds the slightest bit congested compared to the AKM side to me.

I used to have the Solaris OG and miss the holographic soundstage. Recently got the SE200 and am getting the itch to try the Solaris 2020, though I'm enjoying my 64 Nio at the moment.
I went Solaris 2020 -> Nio, and pretty happy with it.
Fit is better, pressure relieve system is awesome, i like the ability to tune the sound with Apex filters, and i appreciate the lack of hiss and the LID technology in general, they really do play great from any source, not only select few ones.
But soundstage was really special on Solaris, and there was this CA "magic" in the sound that i sometimes miss :)

Fit was the reason I had to let the OG go. I have smaller ears and I was constantly adjusting because they stuck out so far. And from the pics I've seen, the shell of the 2020 is smaller but it looks like it still sticks out nearly as far, which would be a deal breaker for my fit I think.

There's definitely something magic in the Solaris though :)

If (when???) they decide to release the Solaris custom I'll have to seriously consider jumping back.

There definitely is. I have a VE Elysium on its way to me and I listed my Solaris SE to recover some funds for it. Shortly after doing that I put them on for the first time in a couple days and fell in love all over again...so I will keep them alongside my Ely.

listed my Solaris SE
I think many were skeptical you'd actually sell them

There it is :)

I'd be in the same boat if I didn't have fit issues. Similar to you, I tried other things but always feel pulled back to the Solaris. I love the Nio, super versatile, and the fit is great for me, but, from memory, the Solaris OG still bests the Nio on holographic soundstage and imaging.

And so the world turns, we continue to spend such embarrassing amounts of money on frivolous iems that we sheepishly lie to our friends and spouses about their cost (the equivalent of least ten rolls of TP in today’s currency), and we then bitch verbosely when the iem we loved yesterday devolves overnight into garbage when something shinier comes along and our signatures lose cache amongst the anonymous avatars with whom we enjoy arguing on head-fi.

Stumbled across an old post...this is brilliant lol

This might have been asked before, but does anyone know if the Solaris hisses with the Mojo?

Yes, there is a slight hiss with the Mojo. Once the music starts playing it's not noticeable anymore.
