Campfire - Solaris

Interistingly, my opinions on these IEMs, save the Fourte Noir, are about the same as yours. The Z1R and the Solaris are at the summit of the portable realm for me, and I greatly enjoy listening to them.

On the topic of the 64 Audio IEMs, I've always loved the U/A12t. They have a very grand sound, with some excellent bass to boot. Nevertheless, everytime I'm close to pulling the trigger on them, I end up getting distracted by something else. It was the Zeus the first time around, then the Kaiser Encore, and this year, it was the Solaris.

What I've learned in the last 1.5 years, though, is that once you hear a well-tuned hybrid, it's hard to revert to an all-BA affair. I'm just in love with that DD bass.
The only all BA IEM I've found that can compete with the Solaris is the Andromeda Gold SE. The Andromeda Gold has excellent deep bass but it doesn't compare to the Solaris which I find has a warmer more organic bass due to the DD.

For me , AG has better/more midbass impact than solaris (og) but solaris has the better subbass (rumble) , but i liked the mids and treble also more at the andro gold :)

I agree. But the Solaris SE improves the mid bass that makes it more similar to the Andromeda AG. Between the two SE models you can't go wrong.

For my critical listening I switch between the Solaris SE and Andromeda Gold on the WM1Z. I'm going to do cable rolling to determine the best pairing. But will wait until my DoubleHelix Symbiote SP V3 OCC Silver 8 wire arrives to post my results.

Can I ask why 64 Audio N8 doesn’t come into your thinking?

I lost my A12 so a hybrid will make me feel less bad as a significant technological upgrade... I briefly tried a few at e-earphones while in Tokyo but that didn’t want help except for putting me off some of the huge CIEMs such as Layla and Khan.

is it a japan-only product?
Yes. Both Andromeda MW10 & C/2019 Q4 are Japan exclusive.

Have you tried the VE8? They pretty much caused me to sell the Andro Golds.
VE8 & Andro Gold are solid IEMs & it depends on personal preference. You should give FIBAE 7 a go too if you are replacing Andro Gold with VE8. I know @davidmolliere sold his VE8 when he has FIBAE 7. Cheers! :)

The C/2019 is a 3 BA mid tier new model. It is definitely not as good as MW10 as a whole but still great sound. @ranfan did a great job describing the sound of C/2019 Q4.

Well FIBAE 7 is less than half the price of VE8 :p
