Any impressions of using Solaris out of Fiio M9 and/or Dragonfly Red? Interested in impressions with Mojo, but there are already a number of comments that state that the Mojo does not compliment the Solaris very well.
Thanks
Seems I was also contribute in this, Let me clarify, When I was demoing with mojo, I can only used with my NOTE 8. and find the sound signature is warm, same as X5III (which Mojo is better), And I prefer SOLARIS with neutral or tend to Bright signature to get the mid & high get more juices. IMO.
So using mojo was not something that I looking for... Different case with HUGO 2, I want to try, but no Demo in my area...

i see the jack cable of 1650... it's a cable porn for me... although I prefer 1670SS.

Try Justin Timberlake " Midnight Summer Jam"... the back vocal male will create a moving 3D imaging that I only notice clearly using SOLARIS.. Rich detail Mid... compare to my Polaris...

After spending some time with my Solaris I must say that I have come to enjoy the bass more and more. I first thought that the bass sounds quite weak for a dynamic driver but I didn't mind it too much as I never care too much about bass as long as its not outright terrible.

Now that I got used to the sound signature (and maybe some burn-in?) I'm really surprise at how well the bass can keep up with fast and complex track even though it didn't appear as being super fast. There are a lot of details and layering here, all are being presented in a very smooth and effortless way, something that I didn't find in my other bassy dynamic driver iems such as Vega (that one hit much harder though). The bass has something unique about them, that's is for sure.

And to think I bought the Solaris becase of its treble lol. So, well done, I guess?

Did somebody else test the new iBasso CB12s cable? For me it sounds like a good match to Solaris and WM1A. More detail in the highs, less hiss. Maybe this is just an effect of using balanced output at last. All my previous 4.4mm cables were downgrades compared to the stock cable. At 99 USD this cable seems to be very good value for money.

Problem - Betta Watch Yo Self is a great demonstration of Solaris bass capabilities.

It's no Vega, but those opening notes sound great.

My bass torture test is usually Hans Zimmer - Dreaming of the Crash from the Interstellar soundtrack. The bass hits around 1:45.

I might have blown up the odd headphones on that song.

I am looking into the Solaris!! I just returned my Sure se535’s as the treble was harsh and the bass was nonexistent!! I decided to up my budget and look at the Solaris. I have read post after post that it is no bass monster, that’s fine as long as the bass is at least present. I have a pair of TFZ Galaxy T2’s, the bass is crazy. They are only $70! What is the bass going to be like on the Solaris. From the last few posts it sounds like once they burn in, the bass is good!

Thanks for any input...

am i the only one who's disappointed in the Solaris?

No, and there have also been concerns about unit variances, but overall impressions seem positive.

Now if CA could just finally get their new Korean distributor... I’d be able to form my own impressions :unamused:
