Hi,

I have read that Tralucent's IEMs have amazing, 3D, huge soundstage and imaging, and detail. Are there any other TOTL IEM/CIEMs that are similar in that respect? It seems Roxanne may be similar, but how about K10, NT6 pro and others?

Thank you.

I really struggled to hear this huge soundstage of roxanne that many owners seems to laud.... IMO it is a enrage average at best and definitely not near ref1 nor 1p2.

I was following that thought maybe most of the folks picked up your comment about the Rox soundstage & overlooked it was a comparison to the Ref 1. And I think most of the folks there haven't tried the Ref 1.

There may be other aspects that one prefers about other IEMs like I did in a jh13 vs 1p2 compare but soundstage size won't be one of them. The 1p2 plays to a large scale and I'm sure the ref 1 does as well. If that's high in your order of importance, it would be difficult to not love these IEMs. I think jha units are more about placement and specificity than scale. They scale well for an IEM but it's not what they're aiming at. K10 10 has a large soundstage as well but I think is a heir (jk) less focused than JHA. To it's advantage, it's very well voiced. Haven't heard the Ref1 but if it's a better voiced 1p2 with tighter bass, it has to be a true to it's namesake reference product.

imo, 1p2 was too bright for my liking.
The bass is nothing like the Ref.1.

From my conversation with Gavin, its not really about how tight or how low the bass can go (my MH335DW can do 20hz easily too).
But more about the quality that makes bass on Ref.1 sound more natural to my ears.
The bass on my 335 sound a bit dry after coming back from the Ref.1

Care to elaborate?

And how do you find the Ref 1's pair the Herus? Any noise?

When I tested the 1p2 and Ref.1 (both with same silver/gold cable), bass on 1p2 seem nonexistent, the treble was also noticeably much brighter.

Herus pairs well with the Ref.1, slight hiss (no music playing) but lesser than with MH335DW cos its a slightly harder to drive IEM.

  What? what? what?

Well I guess if directly going from Ref1 to 1p2 (or anything else for that matter), one may have that (probably misguided) "where is my bass!" feeling LOL....  Ref1 bass is just really really good

This!

That's why I'm holding on to my 1Plus2's until I get to hear the Ref 1's side by side with them. Everything I've read about the Ref 1's suggest they should suit me even more than the 1Plus2's but the 1Plus2's are easily the best IEM I've ever heard.

I think its quite clear now the Ref 1 is not an actual upgrade to the 1plus2 but actually another series tuned to a different signature. Hence I will never sell the 1plus2, unless Gavin makes a 1plus2MK2 (2plus4)?

I have to agree about the lack of bass on the 1p2. I don't have much experience, or many IEMS, but 1p2 was not even close to the bass of my asg-2,Heir 8.0, or even Gr07be. The 1p2 did sound by far, the cleanest, most detailed, and best separation.

Well, in the wide range of IEMs sig I would say what you have are all towards the  "MOAR BASS" end of the spectrum and not surprising 1p2 is the bass light one....
