Would imagine so... the D7000 sounded great just out of my Yamaha receiver alone.

Originally Posted by Anonanimal /img/forum/go_quote.gif The D5000s have a sensitivity of 106dB/mW and impedance of 25Ohms as listed on Headroom. The T1 sensitivity seems to be a little harder to locate, but the most believable number I've found is 102dB/mW and an impedance of 600Ohms. If we assume that those numbers are both correct, then when comparing how an amp can power these headphones, you really need to call into account the fact that these two phones want very different power. For example, to drive each these phones to 110.0 dB you need (using Ohm's Law): D5000: 0.71V (peak-to-peak), 28.35mA (peak-to-peak) T1: 5.50V (peak-to-peak), 9.17mA (peak-to-peak) So, as has been mentioned a few times here, what you really will most likely need to make the T1 shine is a good quality amp with a strong voltage swing. The D5000, conversely, needs far less voltage swing but significantly more current to reach the same volume level. I think at this point if you're not 100% sure of your amp's specifications, you really just need to demo a pair and see if they have good synergy with your equipment. |

However, I would like to step up to a better amp for my 2nd amp. I am overwhelmed with all of the choices in the $500-1000 price range. I would like you opinion, biased opinions welcome, on the best under $1000 solid state amps to use with the T1. I particularly want a large soundstage having recently heard it for the first time. Here are 3 in which I am interested: Corda Concerto (the new Meier offering) Gilmore GS-1 Lehmann Linear Cube Also, there is a used Stello HP100 for a good price, but I am having trouble finding any recent reviews for the amp. |

I'm pulling the trigger on T1s when I get my next paycheck unless a person who is comparing them to another can I'm considering can change my mind, and I'm debating whether to just buy them stock, get them recabled with Black Dragon, or to buy them then ship them off to ZXAC to get it recabled with Nucleotide wire (wire used by DHC). |
