Would imagine so... the D7000 sounded great just out of my Yamaha receiver alone.

My friend from Beyer said me that new Premium series will be built simplier for recabling, so they will be again hardwired, but recabling will be much simplier to dismantle and then back composition. Moon Audio or APureSound boys can say you that some headphones (by concrete producers, not Beyer) are big headache, because their dismantle and then composition is ugly thing. But new Premium Beyers will be very friendly in this case, so when serious service center with Beyer accreditation will be able fast and simply do recabling. So things will be moved more near to user requests and proposals of customers, more friendly. Naturally, when you want do effective Manufacture project, you need be able compose models fast as possible by individual specific pieces, do things simpler as possible, so good technical construction of model will be very helpful. So new Premium models will be next year. Today are in action communication systems.

I owned both (D5000 and D70000 for a short period of time and yes the D7000 is more efficient than the D5000

Yes that's why I have a hard time imagining how the d5000 can be so hard to drive. The d7000 can get to dangerously high volume level (I can hear music coming out it from the room next to it
L3000.gif
) on just my xfi pro without amp past 25%.
But then as some people pointed out earlier they might be different here as well.

The D5000s have a sensitivity of 106dB/mW and impedance of 25Ohms as listed on Headroom.
The T1 sensitivity seems to be a little harder to locate, but the most believable number I've found is 102dB/mW and an impedance of 600Ohms.

If we assume that those numbers are both correct, then when comparing how an amp can power these headphones, you really need to call into account the fact that these two phones want very different power.

For example, to drive each these phones to 110.0 dB you need (using Ohm's Law):
D5000: 0.71V (peak-to-peak), 28.35mA (peak-to-peak)
T1: 5.50V (peak-to-peak), 9.17mA (peak-to-peak)

So, as has been mentioned a few times here, what you really will most likely need to make the T1 shine is a good quality amp with a strong voltage swing. The D5000, conversely, needs far less voltage swing but significantly more current to reach the same volume level.

I think at this point if you're not 100% sure of your amp's specifications, you really just need to demo a pair and see if they have good synergy with your equipment.

Which is exactly why tube tends to be recommended for T1 and SS for D5000.

I ascribe those types of recommendations to inexperience.

I am really enjoying my T1. Thank you to those who advised its purchase.

The T1 seem to work well with my Travagans Red and I plan to keep the Red. However, I would like to step up to a better amp for my 2nd amp. I am overwhelmed with all of the choices in the $500-1000 price range. I would like you opinion, biased opinions welcome, on the best under $1000 solid state amps to use with the T1. I particularly want a large soundstage having recently heard it for the first time. Here are 3 in which I am interested:

Corda Concerto (the new Meier offering)
Gilmore GS-1
Lehmann Linear Cube

Also, there is a used Stello HP100 for a good price, but I am having trouble finding any recent reviews for the amp.

Consider the Audio-GD C2 in there as well. It's cheaper than the rest, sure, but it performs unbelievably well for the price. I've compared it to the GS-1 and in the short time I had with both I preferred the C2 (paired with DAC19 though through ACSS, so that did play a factor, as RCA was used for GS-1).

It also has 160mW output at 600 Ohms if I recall correctly, which should power the C2s very well.

Yes I can make a comparison Balanced VS Single Ended after burn-in. I am also planning to get together with SteveM324 to compare Stock cable against Black Dragon.

Did this comparison ever happen? I'm pulling the trigger on T1s when I get my next paycheck unless a person who is comparing them to another can I'm considering can change my mind, and I'm debating whether to just buy them stock, get them recabled with Black Dragon, or to buy them then ship them off to ZXAC to get it recabled with Nucleotide wire (wire used by DHC).

I'd consider the SPL Auditor as well (can be had for $899) considering the excellent results that have been reported with it and the Phonitor. I have one one the way and intend to purchase a T1 in a few months.

We have not been able to get together yet. Hopefully this weekend.
Who is ZXAC?
