My next favourite is a NOS 12AX7 Mullard...(not the reissue, but the old British made one) very nice. Surprisingly the re-issue Tung Sol 12AX7 Gold Pins is quite good too, easier to find and cheaper.

Thank you MacedonianHero, I will look into those tubes.

I did just notice though that you do have the HF2/RS1 and with the lower 32 ohm Grados, I would tend to lean towards the lower gain 5751 tube as the 12AX7 can be a little too much for them.

Yes, I guess the 5751 would be more allround, but optimizing performance for the T1 could be interesting as well.

If you can, then I would definitely get a 5751 and 12AX7 NOS Sylvania tube. I preferred the Grey Plate version. The Black Plates have more impactful bass, but the Grey Plates seem to have more space, instrumental separation and clarity.

I regularly use 600ohm headphones.........and prefer 5751 over 12ax7. It's a shame the favorite (Raytheon/windmills) have become soo expensive. It was only aprox 2 years ago I was able to buy them for $30 ea..
But, then you have to be cognizant of what has happened to prices for orig. Mullard EL84.

qBoys, could be possible to give me your experience and emphases in application of T1 with Woo audio 2 (OTL tubes) or Woo audio 22 tube amp? Have somebody of us experience with Rudistor RP8 OTL tube amp? Has somebody practiced with Ray Samuels amps? Thanks for all your info.

knopfy – It is same as I said in previous issue. T1 are very successful and with T1 Beyerdynamic has excellent strategy in the „super high end“ market competition.

I've asked that question myself... but compare the good build quality of beyerdynamic's headphones to the crappy quality of Grado... qualitywise it would be quite understandable why the T1 take so long to be manufactured.

Yeah, I know that this comment is not logical at all...

Hmm... maybe I'll buy a second HD800 just because of boredom while waiting for the T1......

Wow, you can try stacking headphones on your head, one over another. Pls tell us whether the depth of the doubled HD800's soundstage increased. I heard the T1's is already very good.

I know no one does.

Any one have any idea why they are in such short supply? Are they hard to make for some reason?

According to Beyer, demand has far exceeded their expectation, and they are not willing to sacrifice quality for the benefit of cranking them out faster. I hope that's actually true.

I just find t hard to believe that there is that much demand. It still is a $1000 headphone. It's good that they aren't willing to sacrifice quality.

Demand is relative to supply, my friend. If your forecast was 50 pairs, and 100 were ordered, that is just as big a problem as if your forecast was 5,000 and 10,000 were ordered.
