Does anyone here know where I can find a T90 driver? Used or not, doesn't matter as long as it is fully functional.

Just eBay.
Eventually™.
Much time and patience will be required, so you're better off buying from Beyer if you're in a hurry.

Here's my short comments on pad rolling.

Firs, let me say that pad rolling is not for the feint of heart. It's way more work that it should be. Ideally one would have two T90s to be able to switch back and forth :-)

Stock pads used as reference

With DT770 pads:
Very comfy. Pillows on the my head
Highs are reduced. Bass is muffled.
No good

J$ pads:
Bass is a little punchier and there is a slight bleed into the lower mids, but not much and really only an issue at high volumes. Very comfortable.
I didn’t try the Alphs Pads, but they probably sound similar to the J$
not bad

Brainwavz Angled Velour
Very comfortable
I think they smooth out the highs a bit and warm up the mid and bass.
I haven’t tried yet, but cutting out the center foam on the earpads might open up the treble a bit.

So hard to choose, but I'm leaning towards the stock pads. I would like to hear from anyone that has cut out the center foam on the Brainwavz  pads.

so you suggest just use the stock pad?

I'm saying there is no doubt a change in sound for each pad, even though in almost all cases there is no change in what comes between the transducer and my ear. Oddly enough, the brainwavz pad has the least change in sound and it does put something between the speaker and ear. I just haven't decided if I want to cut out the material to see if that makes a difference.

All I can say definitively is that for the stock sound, use the stock pads.

I cut the inner mesh out of Brainwavz HM5 (non-angled pads) and I think it helped to limit any loss of treble extension that may have occurred.

I am also considering removing the inner mesh from the new angled pads...which I agree are comfortable and balance pretty we'll...BUT...could probably use the removal of what is excess material.

I remember the same story with changing ear cushions on Grado's and at the end of the road I went back to the stock pads. I have contacted one of the Beyer dealer around the area and they said to me that changing stock pads for anything different degrade the sound and should be avoided. Rather to use adequate amp. Well, I tend to agree with them, since Beyer for sure did some research on T90 and got the the pads as they are.

Agree with the above. However after a few years a set of new pads is an amazing "service" for the headphones.
Makes it feel new again. Though the pads last very long - it still feels great to have a fresh set.
