There is much more pseudo-audiophilic products then pseudo-pro tools... :)
Look at those wanna-be high-end Chinese companies ...

Balanced requires separate left and right ground . This connector has common ground so balanced would require significant modification


Correct. DT 1770 Pro is not intended for balanced-mode use and would require some deeper modification.

There is no such thing as a balanced headphone connection in a PRO world, its a nonsense ..
When your balanced connection is better then a regular (un-balanced), it is mean only one thing:
 
The amplifier manufacture made the unbalanced connection tuned badly. It is not a conspiracy, this is a real world example...
The superiority of balanced connection in headphones is a fake.

Yes, you right.  this guide is incorrect... :)
because unbalanced Hugo, sounds better then all wannabe "balanced" setup i hear before (pono/PHA-3/Alo portables/etc)...
