Well have been listening to both of them and yeah don't buy the 100s , they are interesting for sure but they just don't hold up
Now determining single ear was incredibly difficult
First of all the bass is almost non-existent , no discernible extension , rolls off early... another interesting observation I made was that the driver during 30-100Hz test tones really gets over driven at every 10Hz sweep , it looses control for a sec and then it becomes normal ....that is only apparent at tones and not in real practice (Music)
The Mids are coherent but due to the thinness in bass , the lower mids sound slightly thin hence male vocals lack the body
There is some severe missing information up top , its not dark as a matter of fact its a bit bright but there are many dips up top
Overall the 100s are not up to snuff , they are decent ...that's it , I would only recommend it to the collectors
I respect the 100 , I mean its the 2nd dynamic in the world , also like the 48 its not having the new acoustic baffle apparent in the newer DT models , its a classic , historically , sonically its sub-par not to mention its super comfortable , more than the dt150s
DT150s are significantly better in terms of fidelity but I'm not expecting near HiFi sound from a headphone which is around twice my age , I'm keeping them
