I have a Samsung Focus and Zune HD and I want to get the Beyer DT 1350. Will they be OK unamped being 70 or 80ohm? And don't they have better isolation than the DT770/80 Pro? I want to use them for mowing lawns as well, so I need good isolation for that. Are they good for hip hop and rock?

Sorry cant answer the actual question, but someone owns a Zune HD? Do they still make those?

Yeah zune.com I bought it like a month ago refurb. 16GB Black for 100 bucks from cpmatrix on ebay, he has a store that sells refurb microsoft hardware i think. he has a website so google cpmatrix too if you can't find his ebay store. i couldnt after i bought my zune lol

Yes, Some of us actually like and own the Zune HD.  I have the 64Gb version and it puts out some very nice sound (Wolfson DAC).  I usually listen w/o an amp but if I am using a harder to drive set of cans I use a P-51 amp.

Ety ER4 for mowing lawns.  I'm very interested in the Beyers, but I would never use them for that if I had them.  One, they'd get too dirty.  Two, however good they are at isolating compared to conventional headphones, even most isolation headphones aren't quite good enough for mowing lawns.  No way are the Beyers isolating enough.  You'll just screw up your ears by cranking it past the noise.

If you want good isolation get the AKG K390NC. Best isolation I've ever had.

I'm using it with both a minibox-d and the audinst HUD-MX1. Definitely better amped!

The DT1350 sound just fine with the Zune HD. I'm not terribly impressed by them though. A lot of edgy treble in some songs, which is definitely not my cup of tea.
