DTS is Digital theatre sound...Only PS3 games will support this codec due to the large storing capacity of BR discs. Many, including myself, feel that DTS is better then DD 5.1. But is still a pretty controversial topic to debate.
If DTS SS is a new codec, I have never heard it before.
