I dont think you will get the power you need for 250ohm headphones from a phone.If you like to listen at low volumes it should be okay.

The LG G8(none s) or the V40 is capable to deliver.
V30 is on the the edge to blow your eardrums, even with the 600ohm T1 monster.
The DT 990 should be a snack for, I think. ^^

Wow.600ohm?! I currently have the G8 but i haven't tried it with my DT770 pro 250ohm and an adapter yet.But i will tonight.But im returning the G8 because of unsatisfactory battery life,the dip in the top bezel and the static/distortion with Bluetooth streaming.But I still cant believe a phone can power 600ohm headphones.I have to hear the V30.

Tested it before my reply.
Volume level at 70 couz the last 5 steps are going to fatigue.
As I rode on another thread, the V30 surprised me again.
After that experience, I did a comparison with the Audio GD R28 in se mode.
The V30 was a quite step behind. Not as clear and dynamic as the R28 but close to in Volume.

Tested with "Ghost love score" by Nightwish.

You are correct.The LG G8 can power my DT770 pro 250ohm to loud volume in high gain mode with an adapter.I'm surprised.But i doubt it would get close to the volume of the V30.

Hi.
The Quad dac with the build in amp is a huge improvement over the 8s.
8s is just a low cost one, imo.
They should take the Term "8c" for cutted, instead of 8s. ^^
They are going to fool their costumers with this piece of gear.
At least, It's all about the price tag.

If you're in the position to pick a V40, don't bother with G8s, nor G8.
