Necro'ed!

I was using a Sony MDR-Q-something, it retracted when the cable was tugged on instead of a button.
Looks almost similar to the Q68, which is also discontinued now...
Chucked it out after a friend got me a Shure 425 which I used for 3 years...

Some punk stole it, and now I'm back in the market looking for clip-ons. I was actually planning on getting a ATH-EM7 before the Shure.

Discontinued is fine if there's still stock floating around, but the ATH-EM7's seem to have disappeared, leaving behind a bit of a cult status...
Looked for my good ol' Sony clip-ons at my local store. No luck though, have clip-ons fallen out of favour?
I was under the impression that Audio Technica was sorta trying to push for clip-ons to be a serious alternative to headphones. Guess it flopped.

Ordered a pair of Sony MDR Q68's from ebay.jp, but I'm still seriously hoping that Audio Tech gets back on the Clip-on wagon...

Cresyn(OEM for some of the AT clip-ons) has one now for phone use. Thought I'd mention it since that would seem to be pretty rare and something that fans of the style would want. Not sure if an AT version will follow. These would be probably be turned into an ATH-EQ500is or something of the sort.

I did not know Cresyn was the OEM for Audio Technica clip-ons.

Well, not surprised really, they practically make almost every companies' entry level gear.

First the new Cresyn, then I saw something about an EM7x model...

It seems AT will be bringing back the clip-on :)

Hope they bring back the earbud as well since the CM707 is from 2010. The last clip-on's are 2011 models.

Probably a test run and if they do well enough...expansion to other Asian markets. Not gonna see these in NA, lol.

Also thought that. Though AT has made sound improvements on  "x" models, this is not an actual Japan release as of yet. Not sure yet if it is any different other than slapping the x and Hi-Res logo on them as a re-release. The Cresyn doesn't seem different other than the mic/controls. Very little may be truly new here but an odd bit of activity to see where it goes. Both the Cresyn powered AT clip-on and the Foster's powered AT clip-on both re-emerging around the same time is more than a little coincidental.

Hi @kostalex
Can you please give me some advice on how to make the "Grips" from iGrado and Koss body? My iGrado got torn in 3 by my dogs (driver cups intact). I really like the "Grips" design, but it leave me clueless on how to build them.

Hope the ath-em7x (or em9, wishfuul thinking) come out soon. Dig clip-ons, but sick of ksc-75s breaking- Yuin look like the same design :frowning2:

Anyone here tried the Dunu clip-ons? I've only seen them for sale on Penon, dual-driver design, bit curious: http://penonaudio.com/DUNU-DN-C60II

EM7x seem to be on Asian market for quite long already. I wonder how they compare to EW9 and older brothers. I even tried to read some Asian sites reviews, but it's pretty tough with auto-translation.
