I'm regretting my more recent DAC/AMP purchases, and wish I would've waited for this instead.

It's on my sig. I don't wanna put them on blast because my problems may be isolated, but it's just been an honest disappointment.

Ooh, ouch, yeah I hear ya.  Well, I haven't heard the recent purchase so I can't compare, but the Element was kind of on the mind-blowing side if you know what I mean.  You should review it for Guru!

I'm in the same boat with my x7, thinking about getting either this dac/amp the new matrix hpa-3u or violectric v100/200 3 different price points.. Three tough choices.

I'm in the opposite situation: sold all my amps and DACs, and also sold, traded, or returned many headphones...and now I'm rebuilding anew, so to speak. Once I can afford the Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000, JVC HA-SZ2000, Sennheiser HD 600, and/or V-MODA Crossfade M-100, getting The Element will be the natural next step.

Still feels a little awkward to say "I got the JDS Labs The Element" in a sentence.

I recently got the X7 but mainly for gaming and movie watching. For music, I'm still searching for the right DAC.

...Or maybe they really do want us to say "The Element by JDS Labs."

But yeah, most people are just gonna call it whatever they want.

Hopefully I'll be able to use it next month with various open and closed headphones...but I'll need to raise an extra $700-1,000 first. I figure getting a few non-electrostatic headphones with that much would be less risky than spending $500 on an entry-level electrostatic system this early on that may not meet my requirements for all genres.

Oh, and I did not actually buy it yet. I was talking about how I would word it if I were to say that.

@jseaber

Come to think of it, I would want to use The Element as a DAC for an electrostatic amp in the future, so I guess I'll get the alternate version after all. I'm assuming all I need to do is specify that I want RCA outputs instead of inputs in the notes during checkout.

  itd very nice to know the price... so compact looking, hope it has Bluetooth

Why do people keep asking about the price? It's on the product page, which is linked to in the first post of this thread.

You can also see the features on that page.
