AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

After experiencing with different cables, I still think the T800s sound best with pure copper. Spc/silver gives the midrange weird tonality.

T800s are very good for the money, but they are still in a mid-fi range. I paid $675 for my Hyla ce-5 last week. It has similar U-shaped, but better than T800 on every aspect. I'm just glad to be out of the mid-fi hell. The ce-5 costs three times the T800, but I'm definitely being very happy about finding my endgame IEM. If your budget is under $500, T800 is a solid candidate at the price range though.

Hey Guys,
I wanted to mention a few things about filters:
I think that @FastAndClean actually used the green (plastic) filters that are made for the Etymotic ER4 type earphones.
Purchase link here: https://www.etymotic.com/er38-46.html

However, from my research; the ER4 type "Green Filters" seem to be the same resistance (1500 Ohms) as the Knowles Green Dampeners that others have been mentioning here:
https://media.digikey.com/Photos/Knowles Acoustics Photos/BF-1861-000.jpg
I believe these are the same ones that @blomman77 used for his measurements.

I am not 100% sure if the ER4 plastic filters are the same size though?
Here are drawings to the metal Knowles dampers that @blomman77 used:
https://www.knowles.com/docs/default-source/model-downloads/bf-1861-000.pdf

I just want to make sure we have a clear idea on any differences...
Perhaps @Slater can confirm any size differences between the two types?

And finally:
Here is a really cool blog that explains what these Knowles acoustic dampers can do:

Mine arrive Thursday. They may be shipping standard with two cable sets now, silver plated 8 strand and pure copper 4 strand. Very responsive, friendly customer service as opposed to NiceHCK (my experience).

Unfortunately, I have no experience with Etymotic earphones or dampers. I know that years ago they used to use Knowles dampers, but stopped and made their own instead (due to some people cracking the earphone nozzle when trying to remove the damper).

My guess is that the colors are a 1:1 match to Knowles, since the acoustic resistance is rated the same.

Since I’m curious to know the answer myself, I contacted an Etymotic rep with the question. I’ll let you know if/when I get an answer.

This is a really nice o.t.g combo, light weight, stunning sound (Ldac) and great isolation :)
(VE Silver Junkosha 24” balanced cable)

yes i use the same damper, one of my pairs is stock the other is with that damper, it came with my Etymotic ER4S
the modded is darker and feels like it has more bass because the upper mids are lower in level, also the soundstage is bigger because of that

Hi,
Can you please tell me what store has the $24 promo for the T180?
Link?

Thanks! :)
It is in their official shop on Taobao/Tianmao. Basically the actual Chinese eshop backend to Aliexpress. With shipping added it's pretty much the prices they have on Aliexpress right now so no need to bother.
