Yea, all of a sudden the HQ software doesn't detect my Mobius. Any fix for this?

One week Impression.

I avoided this headphone for months because it came across as a gaming headset first and not as a Music listening headphone. I did own the LCD-2 at one point, and felt like the price of $1,299 (Rosewood) was too steep, after listening to this headphone for week I must say that for Music listening this headphone is really good. I mostly use this headphone for Gaming on my PC, which is the strongest use for this headphone, games come alive, the 3D positional feature of this headphone is NOT a gimmick, I say this pushes the Audio immersion a notch further than regular Virtual Surround sound; I prefer the Ballistic EQ when playing First Person shooters.

Design and build is great, Nothing to complain about, I do like the fact that the mic is detachable, the pads are comfortable but not plush. The wireless feature are a welcome addition to the USB connection, I did paired this headphone with my Samsung Galaxy S9 via LDAC. Connection is very stable and, the sound via LDAC is superb; the sound quality of the Mobius wireless Rivals my Sony 1000WHm3; Only downside is NO Active Noise cancelling.

For Music via USB, I really like the Mobius, I prefer the 2CH HiRes for music listening with either the Default EQ or the Music EQ, I love the performance and resolution of this headphone, the planar sound is very present, does it rival the LCD2s No, but for the price and convenience it is not bad. I will settle with this headphone for a while, I sold all my audio-headphone gear, Mobius covers all my needs, Phone calls, Music, gaming, movies.

The Mobius is stellar, I highly recommend it, A+++!

I've had mine since September and like davidmthekid they've replaced all my other headphones: for gaming, music listening, and ease of use (I used to use isine20 for music and daily use and Steelseries Arctis 7 for gaming). The battery on these things lasts all day, they are durable, and sound outstanding for a bluetooth headphone (better imo than the Sony WX1000, although I prefer planar drivers), although I always use them via the usb cable when at home because they are even better wired imo. If these break I will just buy a new pair without even thinking about it - best headphone I've ever owned and now favorite headphone company and I've owned a handful of different headphones from Audio Technica, Dita, MrSpeakers, Hifiman, 1more, AKG, Sennheiser in the $100-$1000 range).

Loving the Mobius.
Wanted to share my setup for hi-res playback over bluetooth after many hours of trying out different players and settings.

Requirements:
Hi-res audio files
LDAC supported phone (I'm using Pocophone)
Neutron music player (has a 7 day free trial, chosen for the ability to remotely play flac from the network storage and crazy level audiophile settings)

Mobius preset: flat

Phone settings:
Enable developer options
Under developer settings set Bluetooth to 96khz sample rate, 32bit, 990kbps bitrate

Neutron settings:
DSP effects - everything disabled
Replay gain - enabled
64 bit processing - disabled
Resampling - Audiophile
Automatic Gain Protection - enabled
Audio Hardware
  • DSP effect (device) - disabled
  • Dither - enabled
  • Ultrasonic filter - enabled
  • Hardware gain - enabled
  • Generic driver - enabled, inside enable hi-res codec and Bluetooth
  • 32 bit output - disabled
  • Low latency - disabled
  • Frequency - 96000
After saving the settings, go back to Audio Hardware and make sure you have 96000 at the top info panel.

The brainwavz pad looks great, does installing it requires anything that voids the warranty?

Also UAPP seems great on first impression.
Are you using the HiRes direct driver?
It seems to revert back to 32/96 in the Android settings when the Mobius starts, do you manually set it to 16/44 every time?
The bit perfect mode sounds great.

Nope, the stock pads pop right off. When I first tried the pads they didnt sound great, so I made a baffle and that made them sound amazing.

Yes I use the hires direct driver and yup every time you turn the Mobius on you have to set to 16/44 or 16/48. An inconvenience but not the Mobius' fault. I don't use bit perfect though since i use the toneboosters parametric eq, but it's set to 16/44 anyway.

How do you pop off the pads? I tried briefly but stopped for fear of destroying them accidentally.

The blue/copper rings that the pads are attached too pop right off. Its just 2 little snap tabs holding em on.

Like some other users here I have only a Mac at home. My work laptop is a PC, which I have installed the Audeze HQ App on. However, I don’t have admin privileges on this computer — will that prevent me from plugging my Mobius into my work PC and being able to update firmware’s? I saw some talk about running in admin mode ..

Thank you! Btw not used to PC’s so I may be confusing things.
