Got to try a Mobius today.

Love the sound, soundstage, soft earpads, and features.

Don't love the 10 hour battery life, or creaking and cracking headband on both available demos.

No real creaking on my set.

What kind of battery life were you expecting out of curiosity?

It is a joint . Completely normal and not out of spec .

The pictured area is not a joint - it's part of the plastic section of the headband at 10 & 2 (ish) when viewed from the front - and when spread to put on the head it creaks audibly on both sets. (Blue more than Copper)

The joint is in blue on the headphones.

No real creaking on my set.

Other wireless headphones I've been looking at have anything from 16-30 hours of battery - I expected around the lower end but not that much lower. I guess it makes sense due to the technology in the headphones though.

See if u can find the other joint next to the a of audeze .

I guess planar driver is pretty power hungry. See if u can find one wireless planar that got better battery life. Of course would love to see improvement in the next iteration.

The battery life is lower than normal headphones because of the electronics and DSP. It is not because of the Planar. With Fluxor magnets and thin film, we have really optimized the Mobius driver that it is on-par with a dynamic driver. The DSP on the other hand is still first generation chip with all the processing.

For comparison, if you look at the new Dolby headtracking headphone with dynamic drivers, it gets about the same battery life with less features.

Where was this ? It is possible some of the demo units out there are earlier models. It is a tooling mark on the headband.

This really depends on the chipset use and the DSP. If regular wireless headphones have as much processing as the Mobius, they would most likely have similar battery performance or worse.

I'm no longer at the location I demo'd these at but the creaking was coming from the right side on the blue everytime I went to put them on my head, and when I checked the headband I saw those marks.

This was at The Headphone Bar in Vancouver.

Knowing this, are there any plans to make an over-ear Sine or equivalent model to bridge the gap between the Mobius and all of its features and more portable over-ear wireless headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM3s?

I believe something that combines the wireless sound quality, sound stage, and over-ear form factor of the Mobius with the design and materials of the Sine would easily become the best wireless headphone of 2019, hands down. (I came away very impressed by the Mobius.)

Hello! All of the units have this line or only early demo models? Asking just out of curiosity as aside of some slight hiss mines are perfectly fine, but they do have this line.
Tooling mark is on all the headphones. Some earlier demo units had some fit issues because they were hand assembled before production started.

Regarding AUX INPUT - Analog Connection:

To know what (headphones) amplifier or line output level would be necessary or suited to drive Mobius Aux Input I have measured it's parameters.

WARNING: anything with a significantly higher output voltage is said to be capable of destroying Mobius!
Where this destructive limit is, only Audeze can answer, and (@KMann @Audeze ) I think they should give figures here.

Explanation: Mobius Aux Input uses an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) with a fixed maximum input, which does not change when you turn Mobius volume control.
If you go beyond the ADC's limits Mobius will distort, no matter what the volume control on Mobius is set to.

The maximum undistorted level the Aux Input can handle is: 1.6 Veff.
The Aux Input's impedance is: 4250 Ohms, independent of frequency within the audio range.
The sensitivity of Mobius thru the Aux Input, 3D off, DefaultEQ, on Bruel&Kjaer 4153 coupler: 108dB SPL @ 1Volt, 1kHz.

This means, anything to drive the Aux does NOT need a lot of current, but about 1 volt of output voltage (not to be confused with the "hard to drive" discussion for high impedance dynamic headphones).
An iPhone, e.g, can do that.
Most desktop CD players line outs have 2V, so they are suited to drive the Mobius Aux Input, the 2dB overvoltage is reduced enough by the player's output resistance on most models.

Mobius is significantly louder (ca. 3dB) then a Sennheiser HD800, so anything that can drive the HD800 to sufficient level can easily drive Mobius.

BTW: the frequency responses are almost identical between USB and Aux, except for a low frequency roll off with a lower corner frequency of 22 Hz on the Aux, and a tiny deviation of 0.5dB in the left cup caused by different acoustic properties when the plugs are in or not.
