Glad to hear it, i was thinking that there is something wrong with me
Yes, i like the look as well, so much that i bought it, even that i wasn't sure about the weight. I took under the consideration the looks, comfort ( maybe to be honest, it is not as comfortable as lets say Hifiman HE1000), great sound quality and for the weight i said to myself - com on, you will get used to it. I hope i will, i must
There is no other way. If i will try to sell this one, and start to look for another one, my son will say that i am crazy, i do not want that :innocent:

I decided to take apart my original LCD-2C the other day to clean the foam beneath the outer metal grills. I found that the inside of the grills are printed LCD-3 lol. Audeze must have re-used parts from the LCD-3 when they first made these. Flipped them to the LCD-3 side and reinstalled them 😂

Weren’t fazors initially introduced with the LCD-3? Maybe they’re were all just printed “LCD-3” at some point

Do you all accept LCD2 Closed in this thread?

I’ve owned mine a little over 24 hours and pleased so far. The female vocals were a little harsh at first but after burning them in a bit they’ve smoothed out. I started out driving them with a Dacmagic200 until my Valhalla 2 showed up this afternoon and it provided an even better outcome.

Yes, I've finally received them :) Pre-ordered few months ago, but they're finally on my head. Have to say, they look and sound fantastic. Previously I had 2015 version, pre-driver change. These sound better, no doubt about it. This is the sound I like, and (together with LCD-X) I think this is the end game (simply, no money). Very happy!
Could you tell me more about why you own both the LCD-X and LCD-2 and why you can't keep just one pair? What do you feel is missing in the LCD-X that made you buy the LCD-2? And if you now have the new LCD-2, why haven't you sold (or maybe you already sold) the LCD-X?

I own the LCD-X, and I think I might have made a mistake choosing them over the LCD-2. At the same time, I've never heard the LCD-2, but the thought that I might like them more keeps bothering me.

Heh, funny as it happens I have sold my LCD-X and kept LCD-2. After few months of deliberation, I came to the conclusion that I like LCD-2 better. First of all they sound very similar, but the deciding factor was twofold - soundstage is too narrow on LCD-X, and treble too sharp for my liking. LCD-X is slightly more resolving, but we're talking a difference very minor. All in all, I just like LCD-2 more, and rather than letting LCD-X gather dust, I sold it. Have zero regrets!
I would advise to give LCD-2 a try if possible, they are great. I'm using EQ on them (I used Resolve's recommendations on LCD-2 review video), I think it's essential to make them sound the best.

I had the LCD-X and the LCD-2, but I sold the X to to buy an LCD-4, which has a very similar sound signature to the LCD-2. Then I bought the LCD-2F, which has a sound in-between the 2 and the 4. And, I'm never selling any of them. :sunglasses:

In that case, it makes sense to try different cables connecting the DAC and the amplifier. I've tested several options, and I wouldn’t say that the high frequencies of the LCD-X were harsh with my Violectric V200. The only cable that sounded bright was, surprisingly, the Cardas Quadlink, probably due to the rhodium-plated brass connectors.

I have a vintage Telefunken cable from the 1940s with multi-strand copper conductors, each 1.2mm thick, and pure copper RCA connectors with gold plating. I haven’t had time to solder the cable yet, but I expect it to noticeably soften the sound and add more body to my LCD-X’s sound

Hi Guys!

I have an LCD2 Prefazor, the bamboo Edition. I love to listen to metal with it without eq, I think it's stock tuning is pretty good for the genre.

Though, I had some IEMs, that I had to EQ because they were too.. peaky and I had to correct some of the peaks, spikes, and as it turned out, there is one IEM that fells more detailed than my LCD2, and I think mainly because I EQd it's top end and thrown away it's bass, only kept 5db subbass.

Sometimes I listen to orchestra, and soundtracks, that sounds too dark with the LCD2.

I have some EQ for the LCD2 that I have done, but I want to try out some, that are created by others, maybe I am still missing out on something.

So can you guys suggest me some EQ presets, that will make the headphone more neutral, or bright in the 1khz-15khz region?

Amazing how great this old LCD-2 sounds still :)
It's been 15 years now. (if you want to see how they looked back then, there is a picture at the start of the thread)
I did upgrade the headband, and Audeze did replace the very first unit (can't recall what was wrong with it, but they were quick to send this unit. The first unit did have a not-so-great positioning of the connector directly downwards.).
These are groovy. (and yes, they do sound as great as the genelec the ones )

Has anyone tried or own the latest version of the LCD-2s? If so what are your thoughts?

I bought the LCD2 Padauk in january.
Great looks
Comfy pads
Very good sound, just slightly, slightly smaller soundstage than on Hifiman HEK stealth. Just a bit.
If its about the hights, listening to one of the Katie Melua's songs, with the "S" sound - out of the Hifiman Arya Organic, HEK stealth and LCD2 - AO has the most of the SSS, the LCD2 the least and the HEK stealth lies in the middle.
Unfortunatelly for me it is to heavy, although very comfortable.

You will grow strong, and enjoy music, what else can one ask for?

The LCD2 has always been about the deep strong bass, and the groovy whole, rather than than the "hifi highs details", so if that groove what you hear then there is a good unit. ( The details are still all there, just not in-your-face because the bass is all dead )
