Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Jun 10, 2015 at 7:30 AM Post #6,151 of 13,134
I have never heard a story of someone who had their Audeze LCD 2s for more than two years without a single problem. I know a gentleman who had his Hifiman cans for almost a decade. Can someone Convince me that I should not return my audeze lcd 2 coming in the mail tomorrow?

Two years, not one problem for me.

I was so disappointed with the LCD-2 on a listening level but I have to give them the credit that they are quite possibly the best mixing headphones.. just for that, I might keep them... rare to find such deep refined bass.

Had my pre fazor LCD2.2 for more than two years with no problems. Although I will admit they don't get a lot of head time.

What DAC/amp do you have behind them, and which specific model do you have 2.1/2.2c/2.2f and what was disappointing about them ?
There is enough info on all 3 on this thread to please a range of preferences.

LCD-2.2F

I thought that they sounded too muffled and dark. Otherwise realistic with tight bass. The low end extension and flat lower mids are incredible and I didn't expect them to be revealing but they were which makes them an excellent headphone to mix bass on. I may perhaps acquire an analog eq to boost some of those high mids... I imagine that might make the headphone enjoyable for listening.

I'd expect that description of 2.1's by some, not F model  !

I shouldn't but I want to try balanced for my LCD2.2. Can someone post a link to a budget cable please? Ideally I prefer a 2.5mm jack. Thanks.

Chris at Charleston Cable Company can custom build you one for about $100. Super nice guy.

I got this silver plated litz cable from China. Good workmanship, and quality connectors. I got the 4-pin XLR for my CEntrance M8 amp. I added a sleeve from climbing rope for comfort and durability.

I have revision 2.2s (Pre-Fazor) that are in perfect working condition. Manufactured August 13, 2011

Don't know. Maybe they just found out it's part of the stolen batch or something. Not sure.

I got mine way before they got robbed, and I bought them used from someone that had them since 2011.  If you check the Audeze LCD-2 Serial Number Roll Call thread (http://www.head-fi.org/t/509255/audeze-lcd-2-owner-roll-call-list-your-serial-number-here) Many serials in there don't work and some do.

Oh does anyone else here absolutely hate the Audeze cables?  Mine got ruined, the thin flat cable is more prone to damage I think, especially because the insulation feels really cheap, and all the aftermarket cables are quite expensive, luckily I found someone selling a barely used stock cable for only $40 so I jumped on that.  But what I really want is a way to adapt my HD800 cable to fit the LCD-2.  The HD800s probably have one of the best cables around, and I would rather not buy from one of those scammy cable companies that advertises better sound quality.

I see cables that do the opposite (adapt mini-xlr to HD800 connectors that would let me use the terrible LCD-2 cable with my HD800s but I want to do the opposite.
