Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

If the recent trend of dips in frequency response around 40 hz are related, any change would've been right around the new year. I only see it in 2014 models, and in all of them.

Frequency graph of my lcd-2 from late january 2014. Interesting dip in the low frequencies.

More drastic like this, most are at 40, this one is 30. There are four(?) 2014 graphs buried in the thread, all of them exhibit this heavy dip, yours is uneven (for an Audeze), but not like these newer models.

This is my FR graph. It looks different from the ones that were previously being posted that elicited talk about a third revision. Beyond that can you guys tell me about what my graph is actually telling me? ^~^

Hello all, just joined the forum. I am a new owner of 2014 LCD 2 aswell and my graph looks similar to this(cant post pictures yet)

Yea, here is the link to mine (measured Oct. 2013).

I have the similar rise just around the 10kHz and up region. But I don't have as much of a strong dip in the 30Hz region. I'm itching to know what Tyll has to say bout these.

I want better sound out of my LCD2s. While it is currently breathtaking with my fiio setup, i think its time to upgrade.

I tried out the dragonfly DAC in a store with my e9 and the sound got snappier, which i liked.

Should I just get a nice DAC right now and wait for amp later? Or should I upgrade both?

Budget is not terribly high. So I'm thinking of just getting a ~$500 DAC right now. Any suggestions? Thank you
