Run a tech news site and next week tuesday, I'll be interviewing Audeze CEO CEO Sankar Thiagasamundram regards to the LCD-2 and its history.

Are there any burning questions that owners would like to know about the Audeze LCD-2 and its history. I don't plan to ask any tech support related questions. Please reply to this post and maybe I will use your question during my interview and it could be posted on our website as well. I will post any answer to any question that I do ask on behalf of users or fans on this thread.

Where did Audeze come up with their unique tuning (frequency response) and how it compares with other common standards like the Harman curve?
Most headphones sound too bright to me (including Harman tuned) and Audeze is one of the few that sounds dark.

Can you please ask him why the 2c sounds different compared to my old rev2 while they supposed to be the same? And why my old lcd2 rev2 suddenly died on one driver though it had been sitting on the rack unused for a long time. Tks

Why so many versions of the LCD-2, but no new LCD-3?

Hello guys. I am considering buying an Lcd2-c after a listening session. But after doing some reserach Im an running into some doubts. First off read the LCD2(-C) was firstly released in 2015. Wondering if the LCd2-c is running at its end of life cycle and will be replaced soon by new renamed model with a newer refined driver. So even though I liked the sound I am aswell not sure if this hs is competitve in 2024. Secondy read some people getting some eardrum trouble cause this seems to be a closed (pad to ear built), nevertheless its named an open hs. Some people feeling there quiet a lot of vaccum/ low pressure causing some unconvinient pressure on eadrums when lifting off and listening. Or even worse getting some real trouble like roaring/inflamations caused by the built . But that maybe be a generally or indivual issue with closed backs.

I would say they are still relevant, if someone likes a warmer, bassier sound with rolled off treble. I never had issue with the seal/vacuum. Never heard of inflammation problems, that must be an isolated case most likely with other underlying health conditions.

One nice thing about the LCD classics is, they are massive built, comfortable, have a nice sound, but they can be very well used with eq. For me they are very nice headphones, still in 2024.

i just bought some brand new LCD 2s and they're great. coming from the K-702, i can't believe an open-back headphone can sound like this. they really sing, they're forgiving of harsh/glaring music, and of course the bass is absolutely fantastic without in any way being overblown. massive sense of power and control right across the spectrum. i'm listening mostly to electronic music, but with decent dynamic range and detail (not overcompressed EDM etc). lots of fun with these! much less "air" and "space" than the K-702s, but i wasn't looking for those attributes, i wanted fun!

Should have bought my literally brand new, barely used ones for $600 ;)

Yeah, I took a closer look and was able to remove whole layer of glue from the phones, it peeled almost clean off, to my relief. Ordered new pads :) Kind of mind-boggling way to change the pads, with glue and all, but hey-ho. Part of Audeze's charm.
I have a question that is not related to wearing.
I see that your product mix is very similar to mine.

Headphones: Audeze LCD-2
DAC: Hifiman EF400
Amp: Burson Conductor 3 Reference

But I didn't use them together.
I wonder how it feels to use the EF400 R2R as a DAC?
Can you share the differences between using EF400 and using the built-in DAC?
thank!!!
