Classics or Non-Classics, which has better sub-bass?

My foam has just slowly worn off on my LCD2.1 over time. Anyone know if the leather strap works fine with this older headband? Or should I just get a new headband and strap from audeze?

Hello, I will be getting LCD-2 (2015 fazor) soon. I've been reading conflicting reports, some saying they need a lot of EQ, others that they're perfect. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle?
What I wanted to ask, if they do need EQ, which bands do I need to adjust? If someone could give specific numbers (aka 3k, 8k, by how many dB, etc).
Much thanks!

I myself have an LCD 2.2 (PreFaser) that does not need EQ to present its qualities, but I also know that Audeze 2016 had a new revision. I don't know to what extent channel imbalance is an issue with your headphones, but once you hold them in your hands and listen, you'll see what you're missing. Just don't get the idea of taking over EQ from others, the FR of the LCD2 per model are too different for that

I will definitely play around and tune them to my liking. But is there a generally agreed area, for example 3k, that would need bumping up, just to get started?

I can only speak for myself now but I find them warm, full, lush and super smooth even without the use of EQ: I also use the Dekoni Elite Velour Pads with them

That's the sound I'm hoping for! I've had my share of super bright treble cannons. I will also have Dekoni pads, but leather I think.

I have a 2016 fazor one, I dont normally use eq with it because it loses the warm qualities and becomes more balanced (I have alot of other headphones that do that better). As described, it has a warm full bodies sound that dosent have too much treble and has great bass. I dont get fatigued listening to it and the weight dosent bother me

LCD 2 vs LCD 2 Fazor...

which one sounds better to you ?

I've got both the 2C and the 2F. They're different enough to justify that, at least to me. The 2F has better resolution and is more neutral, while the 2C has more bass impact, wider soundstage (surprisingly), and a less fatiguing sound. However, that's only really in comparison to each other. The 2C's bass impact is indeed class-leading, but neither headphone is very neutral or all that wide. More subjectively, the 2C is lots of fun and very punchy, giving a taste of what the 4 does so well. And the 2F is my favorite all-rounder under $1K. If you like the general tuning, it works well with every genre. No Achilles' heel.

Cool to hear your thoughts. I have not heard the 2C, but want to see if I can listen to one at CanJam SoCal this year. I've had the 2F for a couple years and it's still one of my favorite headphones I've ever heard, despite having some flagships from other companies. I'm increasingly curious to hear a non-fazor version of both the 2 and also the 3.
